Shut down the compressor. Close the Isolation


valve. Relieve the system air pressure. Ensure
what all air pressure has been relieved from the
compressor and air system.

Disconnect power to the compressor before ser-


vicing. Lock and tag all disconnect switches in the
open (off) position (See Figure 0.0-1).

1.0 DESCRIPTION
1.1 PURPOSE

The purpose of this manual is to provide information


on the unique features of the Low Ambient Option.
Aspects of performance and cold weather operation
are covered in the Sierra Operators Manual Form
88155494 (50-100 HP / 37-75 KW) or 39929104 (125-
200 HP / 90-300 KW). This manual supplements,
rather than replaces the Operators Manual; therefore,
both must be used.

1.2 TOOLS REQUIRED:

Only what would be found in any reasonably equipped


servicemans tool box.

ed directly to the starter back panel. The wattage rat-
ing is 125 watts for use on 115 volt 50/60 hertz 1
phase power and 120 watts on 220 volts/50 hertz, 1
phase power.

4.4 LOUVER OPERATION

- The louvers should move freely with no binding.

- The motor must be permitted to complete its full


stroke. If the louver closes before the motor has
stopped, the motor can be permanently damaged.

- When the recirculating louver is in the closed posi-


tion, a relative tight seal is required to prevent warm air
from entering the inlet when it is not needed.

Louvers may be adjusted by loosening the ball joints


and moving the drive rods to the required position
(See Figure 4.4-1).
