ThePentateuchcanbeviewedfrombothanhistoricalperspectiveandarevelatoryperspective.ThePentateuch
isanexcellentanalogyandexamplefortheChurch.Itisveryimportantthatwerealizetheoldgivesinsight
intothenew.ThelivesandproceduresofthoserecordedinthePentateuchserveasexamplesofhowwe
shouldandshouldnotconductourlives.ThePentateuchisfullofprinciplesthatwemustlearn;otherwise,the
negativesideofhistorywillrepeatitselfinourlives.ThePentateuchisarevelationofJesusandtheChurch.

I.INTRODUCTION
A.ThePentateuch,whichisalsoreferredtoastheTorah,containsthefirstfivebooksoftheBible:Genesis;
Exodus;Leviticus;Numbers;andDeuteronomy.
B.Chronologically,thePentateuchcoverstheperiodoftimefromthecreationtotheendoftheMosaicera.
