Fangs closing in parallel axis.

Two pairs of book lungs (shown by the

claws and one inferior claw.
The inferior claw was obscured by the
dense claw tuft.
The arrow in the figure shows the
inferior claw.

Spinnerets four in number.

Rastellum (Rake-like structure at the


extremity of the chelicerae) absent.
Transverse, broad, pit-like fovea.
Slightly procurved.

Six Sigilla on the sternum (shown by the

Posterior sigilla larger than the other two
pairs of sigilla and not located on the
margin.

Labium with numerous cuspules.

One row of teeth on the promargin of the


fang furrow.
The red arrow in the picture on the side
shows teeth lining the promargin of the
chelicerae.

PME rudimentary, flat and yellowish while other eyes dome shaped.
Darker striations radiating away from the fovea.
Carapace a little truncate anteriorly.
Spination on the legs not clear, especially the spination on tarsi.

Crab like habitus


Laterigrade legs (protruding sideways)
Legs I, II stronger and more robust than
legs III and IV.
Ventral side of legs I, II visible in the
dorsal view.

Two clawed tarsus


Claws with a single row of teeth,
Simple claw tufts, not dense.

Colulus (A small wart like appendage


immediately in front of the spinnerets,
thought to be a vestigial organ). Present.

Eight eyes on distinct tubercles


Lateral eyes on distinct tubercles with
white rings around looking laterally
Sternum heart shaped.

Carapace almost circular, but near the


front, it narrows suddenly to a wide
rectangular eye region.
Carapace truncate anteriorly.

Abdomen elongate, widest near the front and tapers gradually towards the spinnerets.
Abdomen slightly overlapping over the cephalothorax.

4 species from this genus have been reported from India.

teeth of similar size, not so dense claw
tufts.
Tarsi without auxillary claws.
Tarsi not pseudo-segmented.

Eight eyes, Posterior eyes yellow.


Posterior median eyes with dome shaped
lens.

Calamistrum (the row of specialised


bristles on the metatarsi of some spiders)
Absent.

Sternum as long as wide and pointed


between coxae IV.
Legs prograde (projecting forwards and
backwards)
Tracheal spiracle in front of the
spinnerets. (shown by the red arrow in
the figure)

what looks like a trilobate membranous
structure which is characteristic of
spiders of the family Sparassidae.

metatarsals allowing hypermobility of
