SKILLS:

I have skills in program management and team leadership for results; I am knowledgeable in programme
areas of HIV/AIDS Prevention and Sexual Reproductive Health Promotion and have been involved at
management and technical level since 1996. I have managed project teams at country and field operation
levels, particularly in developing countries. Currently, I am RH Coordinator/ TeamLeader UNFPA Dreviously I
worked as a consultant technical adviser with UNFPA Country Office Sierra Leone and provided support,
coordination, guidance, managerial functional advice and training to a range of UNFPA Partners on
HIV/AIDS. These include - project design, implementation, monitoring, evaluation, reporting and functional
capacity development training of management committees of partner NGOs working with HIVAIDS vulnerable
populations, such as commercial sex workers; war widows; adolescent /youths (in and out of schools),
excombatants; uniformed services personnel, (military; police; fire force; customs & exercise; immigration; UN
Peacekeepers and prisons force); seafarers and the refugees; children of the street women and other migrant
or marginalised high risk populations. At country level, I have been able to represent UNFPA in the UNAIDS
technical theme group; HIV/AIDS national response advisory group; IEC/BCC advisory task group and the
VCCT technical working group. I have been involved in HIV/AIDS in the workplace programmes;
HIV/AIDS/RH policy development; HIV/AIDS monitoring and evaluation group; condoms programming,
country coordinating mechanism (CCM) for the Global Fund on HIV/AIDS Malaria and TB, as well as, other
inter-agency working groups. Specifically, I have skills in:

HIV/AIDS project proposal development and management including project planning, organizing services
delivery, coordinating team efforts, staff motivation for greater outputs and team supervision;
Training / capacity development of staff and partners in HIV/AIDS prevention and reproductive health
promotion programming, especially for interventions focusing on marginalized or high risks vulnerable
populations;
Mentoring or providing backstopping to NGOs/CBOs/Business/Community leadership for effective
participation in HIV/AIDS prevention activities;
Coordination with UN Country Team in the area of HIV/AIDS prevention at workplace and for effective
collaboration in support of national response
Project assessment, training and the development and implementation of M&E systems and tools for
programme monitoring and reporting
Community mobilization for HIV/AIDS prevention programme through interagency partnership, including
project marketing and advocacy to counterparts, governments, donors, service users and community

WORK EXPERIENCE:
January 2007-2010 UNFPA Country Office Sudan r/ Project Coordinator

Supervised and coordinated the overall Emergency Programme at Managing the State level in South
Darfur State Sudan;
Provided leadership/support/Representation for UNFPA at the State level in terms of RH coordination;
facilitation and liaison in order to improve RH response and overall UNFPA mandate in the
humanitarian crisis.
Provided technical guidance, training, resources and tools to RH related staff both the government
and NGOs in the State
Supported dissemination of RH knowledge, transfer of skills and use of all protocols including those
pertaining to GBV programme responses
Supported the establishment of reliable referral system for EmOC cases, collaborating with the
Ministry of Health and NGOs for infrastructure and support (i.e. communication and transportation);
Promoted the integration of medical and psychosocial management and treatment for cases of GBV
and provide syndromic treatment of STIs
Participated in inter-agency health coordination, RH coordination, and GBV coordination meetings at
the State level;
Coordinated HIVAIDS Project implementation by UNFPA Field Offices in the three Darfur States
Assessed and documenting RH service gaps within state
Established relationships with State Government, to promote UNFPA Agenda, especially on RH; GBV,
HIVAIDS issues for women and young people's empowerments
Promoted staff participation in decisions of the UNFPA team through meetings; and delegating
responsibilities and tasks and providing support.and guidances to team members leading in specific

Undertaken field monitoring to services delivery areas of implementing partners to assess quality of
work and give technical advices;

UNFPA PPM procedures
