1. Construct a conic section, when the distance of its focus from its directrix is equal to 40
mm and eccentricity as 3/4. Name the curve and draw a tangent and normal to the curve at
any point p.

2. A fixed point is 75 mm from a fixed straight line. Draw the locus of a point p moving in
such a way that its distance from the fixed straight line is 2/3 times its distance from F .Name
the curve. Draw normal and tangent at a point 60 mm from F.

3. Construct a conic section, when the distance of its focus from its directrix is equal to 50
mm and eccentricity as 2/3 .Name the curve and draw a tangent and normal to the curve at
any point p.

4. Draw the locus of a point which moves in a plane such a way that the ratio of its distance
from a fixed point F and fixed straight line AB is always 2/3. The distance between the fixed
point F and fixed straight line is 50 mm. Also draw a tangent and normal on the locus at a
horizontal distance of 65 mm from the directrix.

5. The focus of a conic is 50 mm from the directrix.Draw the locus of a point P moving in
such a way that its distance from the directrix is equal to its distance from the focus. Name
the curve. Draw a tangent to the curve at a point 60 mm from the directrix.

6. Construct a Parabola when the distance between the focus and directrix is 30 mm.Draw a
normal and tangent to the curve.

7. A fixed point F is 75 mm from a fixed straight line. Draw the locus of a point P moving in
such a way that its distance from the fixed straight line is equal to its distance from F.Name
the curve. Draw normal and tangent at a point 60 mm from F.

8. Construct a hyperbola when the distance between the focus and the directrix is 40 mm.
Eccentricity is 4/3.Draw a tangent and normal at any point on the hyperbola.

9. A fixed point F is 7.5 cm from a fixed straight line. Draw the locus of a point P moving in
such a way that its distance from the fixed straight line is 3/2 times its distance from F. Name
the curve. Draw normal and tangent at a point 6 cm from F.

10. Draw the involute of a square of side 30 mm. Draw a tangent and normal at any point M.

11. Draw the involute of a circle of diameter 50 mm. Draw a tangent and normal at any point
M.
12. Draw the involute of a circle of diameter 50 mm when a string is unwound in the
clockwise direction. Draw a tangent and normal at a point located on the involute.

13.A coir is unwound from a drum of 30 mm diameter. Draw the locus of the free end of the
coir for unwinding through an angle of 3600 Draw also a normal and tangent at any point on
the curve.

14 An inelastic string of length 100 mm is wound around a circle of 30 mm diameter. Draw

the path traced by the end of the string.

15. An inelastic string is wound around the circumference of a semi circular cylinder of
diameter 70 mm. the string is unwound completely by holding its free end such that it is
always tightly stretched. Draw the path of the free end of the string.

16. A circular wheel of 50 mm diameter rolls without slipping along a straight line. Draw the
curve traced by a point P on its rim for one revolution of the wheel. Draw tangent and
normal at any point M on the curve.

17. A coin of 40 mm diameter rolls over a horizontal table without slipping. A point on the
circumference of the coin is in contact with the table surface in the beginning and after one
complete revolution. Draw the path traced by the point. Draw a tangent and normal at any
point on the curve.

18. A roller of 40 mm diameter rolls on a straight line without slip. In the initial position the
diameter AB of the circle is parallel to the line on which it rolls. Draw the locus of the point
