I will explain the difference between the images in both texts
After explaining the images, students will be given their worksheet
First, students are required to draw an image from the Ants book on their

completing this type of activity.

7. Assessment and Evaluation of Learning:

Formative: Teacher will walk around and observe what the students are
working on.

8. Homework:
There will be no homework. The objectives were met based upon the
lesson.

9. Reflection:
Strengths:
The strengths of this lesson were that the students really loved the
informational text that I had. I found the having a book with actual
pictures captured their attention more so than a book with
illustrations. In addition, the students enjoyed looking at the
difference between real photographs and drawings of images.
Concerns:
The one concern that I had was that my introduction was not as
strong as it could have been. The students struggled with
understanding the difference between photographs and
illustrations, the students knew that they were both pictures but
differentiating between the two was difficult.
Insights:
The one insight that I have is related to my concern. I need to find
a different way to introduce activities. I think that next time, I
would use an anchor chart to introduce the lesson. The students
like visuals and color. I would make an anchor chart to capture
their attention, and hopefully it would help to differentiate between
the two.
