Why are you studying Spanish? (explain)

I would like to complete 4 years of highschool spanish in order to better my chances of getting
into UCLA and also so that I can receive my bilingual certificate.

In your opinion, which of the following language skills are you best at in English? Put the

and 7 next to the skill you feel needs the most improvement.

What specific area of Spanish, e.g., speaking, would you like to improve before you leave this
class?

For example, I would like to be able to have a simple conversation in Spanish.

Before I leave the class I would like to be able to hold a conversation in Spanish better
than I can currently. This would be accomlished through furthering my vocabulary.

What thing(s) would you like to learn in Spanish? (be as specific as possible)

For example, I would really like to learn more about when to use the usted (formal) form in
 conversational Spanish.

I would like to learn grammar topics that will actually affect the way in which I speak Spanish and
better my understanding of verbal interactions.

Do you like public speaking (or speaking in public)? In your native language? In Spanish? If
so, why? If not, why not? (please explain)

I do not like any form of public speaking. It is not because I am shy, but mostly because I am not
proficient in public speaking and I make frequent errors.

Do you currently take notes during class? If you dont take notes at this time, why not?

I do take notes frequently. Without taking notes the odds of receiving an A are very low.

Do you like working by yourself (individually)? In pairs? Groups? Why or why not?

I prefer to work in groups as it gives me an opportunity to meet more people and also receive
help on the current assignment.

What study techniques do you use to prepare for a test or quiz? (explain)

I create a study guide if one is not given and quiz myself by reciting the information until I
have all of it memorized.

What should the teacher know about you? Write anything! (be creative)

The teacher should know that I am a hard working individual and I will do whatever it takes to
maintain an A in her class.
