Program Implementation & Coordination
Coordinated and provided technical support to the Ebola Response Consortium (ERC) on Infection Prevention
and Control (IPC) best practices. Coordinated and chaired Ebola Response Consortium Infection Prevention and

Coordinated the Environmental Health (WASH) activities of the Ebola isolation unit including training on
environmental decontamination, appropriate use and safe removal of personal protective equipment (PPE) and
monitoring staff adherence to safety protocols. Strengthened Infection Prevention and Control practices, proper
isolation and separation of Ebola suspected, probable and confirmed cases, coordinated construction of WASH
infrastructure and ensured access to safe water and sanitation for both staff and isolated patients. Developed
Ebola Isolation unit Standard Operating Procedures and Technical Guidelines and trained laboratory and other
staff on safe blood collection, packaging and transportation, hygiene promotion, infection control, waste disposal
and management of dead bodies. Ensured staff safety during patient screening and ensured enough hand washing
stations with disinfectants throughout the facility. Ensured adequate ambulance decontamination between
patients. Provided psychosocial support including staff mentoring and bereavement counseling. Supported
