Job Description: Regional Managing Director

Job Title: Regional Managing Director

Location: Johannesburg/Dubai

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer

Division: Africa

Job Purpose: To deliver EBITDA and return on investment in accordance with agreed strategy and
business plan. To deliver financial returns for the business unit(s) and the shareholders, adhering to
brand values and being recognised as the leader in providing security technology and logistics
solutions in the market (Africa) in which the organisation operates. To deliver high levels of
customer service and ensure that security processes are applied consistently.

Key Accountabilities:

To lead the development and execution of a strategy for the African business unit with clear
performance targets, ensuring alignment with the board and shareholders strategic objectives.

To lead the African business development activities of customer focused senior management team
and to work collaboratively with colleagues across the Group to ensure global key accounts are
provided consistency of service across the business

To assume full responsibility for identifying talent in the market. To develop, engage and lead a high
performing and talented dynamic team who are able to achieve outstanding results throughout the
business unit in their area of operation and contribute to the continual strategic development of the
organisation.
To focus on a quality assured environment where outstanding quality and customer service are
guaranteed throughout the organisation. To develop and maintain positive customer relationships
and agreed quality and service standards to satisfy and exceed customer expectations.

To create and drive a culture where the development of performance, potential and succession of
staff at all levels in the organisation is a key business priority. Ensuring that expertise and capabilities
are continually improved, and to mitigate any operational risk for the business unit.

To develop the business unit capability as an international logistics and security technology solutions
provider, building customer, competitor and market knowledge and expertise throughout the
operation, to ensure the business unit can gain continual commercial benefit.

To identify and develop strategic partners across Africa to ensure operational and sales capability
throughout the continent

To create an environment of positive and favourable employee relations where change and business
decisions can be introduced constructively and consistently.

To actively build strong networks and influence with key decision makers within relevant sectors eg.
Mining, Oil & Gas, Government, Transportation, Utilities & Banking

To work with the CEO to develop and implement a global strategy for the mining sector

Skills / Qualifications / Experience required:

Graduate qualification, ideally an MBA / MSc

At least 10-15 years experience occupying a senior management role and a proven track record in a
customer facing operation in a global / MNC environment, preferably in a service sector.

Extensive experience in selling solutions to the mining sector in Africa and beyond

Previous experience as a Managing Director / leader of a business unit with the potential to develop
beyond this job title and associated responsibilities.

Strong leadership capabilities coupled with strategic business development acumen and customer
service skills and ethos.

Exceptional communications skills with an excellent command of English, French and preferably,
Spanish.
