Dear Sir,

With reference to your recent advertisement published in the relief web site, I am expressing my interest to work for your
organization as a Program Coordinator based in Maiduguri, Nigeria. I am confident that my experience and qualifications
will match with the requirements of this vacancy. I have highlighted some related experience and skills as follows:

15+ years experience in humanitarian and development fields with different National and International NGOs
(Solidarities International. HelpAge International, Islamic Relief Worldwide, Oxfam GB, CARE-International,
NDP, TMSS, ODA and SUS) holding managerial and supervisory positions.
Working experience in Bangladesh, Indonesia, Sri-Lanka, Libya, Tunisia, Philippines and Nigeria in relief and
development fields.
10 years experience with senior management positions in overseas NGO environment with solid experience in
program strategic planning, program implementation, human resource management, grant management, security
management etc in different development and humanitarian fields:
Project Coordinator: 01 year experience in Indonesia
Was responsible to implement Tsunami 2004 rehabilitation programme includes: WASH, health, shelter,
education, livelihoods and orphan support activities. Total budget was 3.2 million USD for 01 year. Total staff
was 32 including 02 expats (shelter engineer and finance officer).
Livelihoods Coordinator: 01 year experience in Indonesia
Was responsible to implement Tsunami livelihoods interventions: cash transferring programme, support to
fishermen, training and inputs to agriculture farmers, support to village people in livestock rearing, training
and inputs support to home based handicrafts activities, construction of small scale industries for micro
projects, construction of markets and roads, construction of community centers etc. Total budget was 2.7
million USD and 44 staff were direct and indirectly supervised by me.
Head of Programme: 03 years experience in Indonesia
Was responsible to implement Tsunami rehabilitation, Padang Earth Quake response and other development
programmes: Managed 05 sub offices during this time. Following projects were implemented under my direct
responsibilities:
1. Rest Tsunami rehabilitation projects: Wash, health, education, DRR, livelihoods, Orphan in Aceh
province
2. Water and Sanitation projects in West Java and Banten province
3. Nutrition project in Banten province
4. WASH project funded by UNICEF in Aceh province
5. DRR project funded by DEC in Aceh Province.
Total staff was 120 (including 07 expats) and total budget was 4.3 million USD.
Programme Manager: 02 years experience in Indonesia
Managed Aceh economic recovery programme as Programme Manager (lead person) for Islamic Relief. I was
fully in charge to implement a 02 years (year 2011-2012) project named sustainable sea fisheries programme
in Aceh, Indonesia. It was a project funded by World Bank. Total amount was USD 5.4 millions. 54 staffs
including partner organization were engaged to implement this project.
Programme Manager: 08 months experience in Libya
Implemented different 07 Relief and Rehabilitation projects for Libyan war affected people (in camps and
outside of camps) in Libya as a Programme Manager for Islamic Relief Worldwide. Supervised the UNHCR
funded refugee support project in Libya also. Total budget was 2.2 million USD and total number of staff was
12.
Head of Mission: 01 year experience in Tunisia

Over all responsible for the teams to manage the refugee camp in south Tunisia and also implementation of
urban refugee settlement programme in Tunisia.
Total fund: 2.5 millions USD (year 2013) and number of staff are 32.
Field Coordinator: 09 months experience in Philippines
Worked as Project Coordinator/Field Coordinator for HelpAge International to implement Shelter, WASH,
Livelihoods, Protection, Health and nutrition interventions for the old aged people affected by Typhoon
Haiyan 2013. Total fund was 3.5 million USD under my responsibility with managing 35 staff.
FSL strategy developer: 02 months experience in Nigeria
Worked for Solidarites International and main responsibilities were: to organize needs assessment on FS and
Livelihoods issues, strategic direction on FSL sector, prepare concept notes and proposals, attend different
working groups: FSL working group, cash working group etc. Communicate and coordination with WFP,
FAO and government rural and agricultural ministry at state level. Staff capacity building on FSL issues,
report preparation

Experience in dealing with donors and external stakeholders


During my jobs in Indonesia, I had to communicate and keep good relationship with the followings donors: DEC,
CAFOD, CIDA, IDRF, CRC, Austcare, Plan International, UNDP, UNICEF, UNOCHA, IDB, IR partners including
IR French etc.
In Libya, I had to communicate directly with UNHCR and also with IR partners (IR USA, IR Canada, IR UK, IR
Australia, IR Germany and IR Italy) through Islamic Relief headquarter.
In Tunisia, I am directly communicating and keep relationship with UNHCR ans also IR partner (IR USA).
In Indonesia, I had to full fill the requirements of MOHA (ministry of home affairs) as Islamic Relief has a partnership
with this ministry. Attended in the coordination meeting organized by MOHA and also arranged visit schedule for
them during the inspection of project interventions.
Attended in donor coordination meeting in Indonesia, Libya and Tunisia as regular basis. Participated UN cluster
meetings, attended meeting in BRR (Indonesia) and other government departments etc.
In Tunisia, we are closely working with Prime Minister office and submitting reports and other documents to
regularize our project interventions. Attending in different coordination meetings held by ODS (government
development agency).

Familiar and confident with Partnership approach, Right Based Approaches, Gender issues, Participatory Monitoring
and Evaluation, PLA/PRA, UN cluster, sphere standard, different humanitarian code of conducts etc.
Experience in proposal writing on disaster response and development operation and proven negotiation skill dealing
with different institutional donors and UN agencies. Prepared and ensured funding from different donors during my
jobs in Indonesia, Libya and Tunisia. Lots of relief and development proposals in livelihoods, shelter, education, NFI,
WASH, health, orphan support etc were prepared and submitted by me to different donors.
Proven experience in security management. Prepared country security plan for IRW Indonesia and IRW Tunisia.
