WHEREAS it is expedient to amend rhe Bcngal Legislative Assembly

(Members' Emolumenls) Acl, 1937, for the purpose and in he manner
hereinafter appearing;

11is hereby enacked in !heFifty-first Year oftheRepublic of India, by

the Legislalure of West Bengzll. as follows:--

1. ( I ) This Act may be called [he Bengal Legislative Assembly short IilIc
and
(Members' Emoluments) (Amendment) Act, 2000. conlrnencc-
men[.
(2) It shall come into force on h e 1st day of April, 2000.

2. In section 4 of the Bcngal Legislative Assembly (Members' Amcndrncnt

or seclion 4
Emolumcnu) Act, 1937,- of Ben. ACI
I1 of 1937.
(1) in sub-clause (ii) of clause (a). after he words "for journeys
by rail at the rale of half lhc first class fare", h e words and
hgure "oral Lhe rate of half h e Air-conditioned Zuer class
fare" shall be inserted;
(2) in clause (b), for h e words "poslal expenses; and", h e words
'Lposrnlcxpcnses;" shall be substituted;
