GRIEVING FATHER SEEKS JUSTICE AFTER

RECENT MURDER OF WIFE AND UNBORN BABY

Orgain Bell & Tucker, LLP files wrongful death and survival action
against apartment complex for premises liability and gross negligence

Jefferson County, Texas - Armed gunmen robbed and shot Kera Teel in the parking lot of the Sienna
Apartment Homes in Beaumont, Texas just before 2a.m. on June 6, 2017. She and her husband, Andrew
Teel, were tenants. When word reached Andrew at the apartment, he ran down only to have Kera die in
his arms moments later. Relentlessly, Andrew performed CPR until the paramedics took her away. Kera
was 19 years old and seven months pregnant. The infant, Kyndal Jae Teel, died shortly after birth.

Orgain Bell & Tucker, LLP filed suit today against Sienna Apartment Homes on behalf of Andrew Teel,
his two-year-old daughter, Alaya Teel, and on behalf of his murdered wife, Kera Teel, and child, Kyndal
Jae Teel. Additional defendants include Sienna Apartment Homes owners, ST Partners III, Ltd. and
MGroup Holdings, Inc., and property manager, Capstone Real Estate Services, Inc.

We want to ensure our community is safe, said Jefferson Fisher, the Teels attorney. And those who
hold themselves out to offer security and have the means to provide that security must be held accountable
to take up their responsibility. We cannot allow this tragedy to be repeated.

The lawsuit alleges that the senseless killings were caused in part by the apartment complex and its
management company due to the failure to maintain adequate security measures. In the months leading
up to Kera Teels murder, the Beaumont Police Department received numerous calls for criminal activity
at the Sienna Apartment Homes. The suit further alleges that the apartment complex received multiple
complaints by tenants regarding the inadequate security, but the pleas went unanswered.

Within days after Kera Teels death, however, the suit alleges that the Sienna Apartment Homes fixed
security gates that had been broken; fences that had been collapsed; and security lights that had been out
of service complex-wide. The apartment complex did not provide any security cameras or on-site personnel.
The suit seeks to hold Sienna Apartment Homes, along with its owners and management company,
accountable for the unsafe, unsecure, and defective conditions of its premises that left Andrew Teel and
their two-year old daughter with the loss of a wife, mother, daughter, and little sister.

Style: Andrew Teel, individually and as next friend of Alaya Teel, and as representative of the estates of Kera Teel
and Kyndal Jae Teel v. ST Partners III, Ltd. d/b/a Sienna Apartment Homes, et al.
