WHEREAS, the Local Government Code has empowered the City of lloilo to
gulate the operation of trisikad or pedicabs within its territorial jurisdiction;

WHEREAS, Section 458 (v) (vi) of Republic Act 7160 otherwise known as the
Local Government Code of 1991, empowers the Sangguniang Panlungsod to:

"(v) Regulate the use of streets, avenues, alleys, sidewalks,

establish bus and vehicle stop and terminals or regulate the use of the
same by privately owned vehicles which serves the public, regulate
garages and operation of conveyances for hire.

(vi) Regulate traffic on all streets."

WHEREAS, the Landheights-Balabago Trisikad Owners and Drivers Association

(LABATODA) requested for the establishment of trisikad route in Landheights
Reg. Ord. No. 2017-0$ Apr. 18. 2017 Page2

Subdivision, Brgy. Balabago, Jaro, lloilo City to legalize the operation of trisikad drivers
as well as to ensure public safety and convenience.

NOW, THEREFORE, be it ordained by the Sangguniang Panlungsod of the City

of lloilo, in session assembled, that an ordinance be passed establishing a trisikad route
for Landheights Subdivision situated at Brgy. Balabago, Jaro, lloilo City;

Section 1. - The route of Landheights-Balabago Trisikad Owners and Drivers

Association (LABATODA) covers the entire area within Landheights Subdivision, Brgy.
Balabago, Jaro, lloilo City;

Section 2. - The trisikad operators and drivers shall register their unit to the
Business Permits and Licensing Office (BPLO)

Section 3. - Let a copy of this ordinance be furnished to the president of

Landheights-Balabago Trisikad Owners and Drivers Association (LABATODA),
federation president of trisikad drivers and operators, Barangay Captain of Balabago,
Jaro, lloilo City and the TMTRO;

Section 4. - This ordinance shall take effect immediately after the same is
published in a newspapers of general circulation in lloilo City;
