DEFLECTION

The deflection should be checked under the serviceability loads in the most adverse arrangement and
combination. Support reactions, maximum moments and deflections for different type of loading are shown in
Table 1, where W is total load. The reader should carry out from basic principle to get these parameters for other
cases which are not listed in the table. The limitations of deflection are given in cl. 2.5.2 and Table 8 in BS 5950-
1:2000.
