Revised 91302 FINANCIAL PROPOSAL To Parish Council DATE: December 1%, 2009 COMMITTEE: Christian Formation Committee TOPIC: Ministry Center Signage, with an addendum for St. Monica Campus Signage PROPOSAL: see attached proposal RATIONALE: The St. Monica Parish Vision states that we must increase the sense of Welcoming parish members and non-members experience when on St. Moncia’s campus, and that we must increase the quality and effectiveness of our communication both internal and external. The Ministry Center needs quality (clearly informational, directive, & inviting) sings in order to increase both Welcoming & Communication. We believe that this is also true for the larger campus. Goal of Communication: to use each form of communication to its utmost to inform and evangelize to our community and to those who may wish to join us. Application: To accomplish these goals the parish must make it's offerings attainable: members and non-members must be able to identify campus locations, staff members, available ministries, and contact information without feeling lost, confused, or disconnected. Summary With the plethora of established and newly-created ministries and events taking place within St. Monica's campus, both parishoner and non-parishoners must be able to identify the correct location of their ministry/event. Such ministries and events may take place in one of four spaces, each of which comprise four distinct buildings 1. Rectory 2. Church proper & Donovan Hall 3. School proper & Franciscan Room 4. Ministry Center. ‘The Ministry Center hosts meetings for multiple Parish, School, and Christian Formation committee meetings, weekly events through Adult & Young Adult Ministries, and Christian Formation classes, and houses the entire Christian Formation staff. Currently, Ministry Center signage is not clearly directional, explanatory, visible, or identifiable. In addition, we suggest locations for improved signage in areas 1, 2, and 3. Without it, people feel lost and unwelcomed.
