Silent night, sacred night,

Son of God, O what light

Thou in Bethlehem born.

HYMN In the bleak mid-winter Enough for Him, whom cherubim
Frosty wind made moan. Worship night and day,
Once in Royal David’s City And through all His wondrous Earth stood hard as iron, A heartful of love,
Stood a lowly cattle shed childhood water like a stone: And a mangerful of hay;
Where a mother laid her baby He would honour and obey, Snow had fallen, snow on snow, Enough for Him, whom angels
In a manger for his bed; Love and watch the lowly Maiden, Snow on snow, Fall down before,
Mary was that Mother mild, In whose gentle arms He lay: In the bleak mid-winter, The ox and ass and camel
Jesus Christ her little Child. Christian children all must be Long ago. Which adore.
Mild, obedient, good as He.
Our God, heaven cannot hold Him, Angels and archangels
nor earth sustain; May have gathered there,
He came down to earth from Heaven *For He is our childhood pattern;
Heaven and earth shall flee away Cherubim and seraphim
Who is God and Lord of all, Day by day like us He grew.
When He comes to reign; Thronged the air -
And His shelter was a stable; He was little weak and helpless,
In the bleak mid-winter But only His mother
And His cradle was a stall; Tears and smiles like us He knew;
A stable-place sufficed In her maiden bliss
With the poor, and mean, and lowly And He feeleth for our sadness,
The Lord God Almighty, Worshipped the Beloved
Lived on earth our Saviour Holy. And He shareth in our gladness.
Jesus Christ. With a kiss.

*And our eyes at last shall see Him, What can I give Him,
Through His own redeeming love, Poor as I am?
For that child so dear and gentle If I were a shepherd
Is our Lord in Heaven above; I would bring a lamb;
And He leads His children on If I were a wise man
To the place where He is gone I would do my part;
Yet what I can I give Him -
Give my heart

Lully, lulla,
A stable lamp is lighted and yielded up to die;
thou little tiny Child,
whose glow shall wake the sky; the sky shall groan and darken,
by by, lully lullay.
the stars shall bend their voices, and every stone shall cry.
and every stone shall cry. And every stone shall cry,
And every stone shall cry, for stony hearts he’s slain; O sisters, too, Herod the king,
and straw like gold shall shine; God’s blood upon the spear-head,
how may we do in his raging,
a barn shall harbour heaven, God’s love refused again.
for to preserve this day; charged he hath this day
a stall become a shrine.
this poor youngling, his men of might,
But now as at the ending
for whom we do sing, in his own sight,
This Child through David’s city the low is lifted high: by by, lully lullay? all children young, to slay.
