Introduction

Overview
As a result of todays increase in population, the number of students in University of Cebu has
risen drastically over time. With the latest addition of Senior High students, there is a greater
demand for new facilities, rooms and learning materials. Due to the increase in population,
schools are forced to inflate the tuition fee, in order to foster the needs of the students. With
the increase of tuition fee, students who are financially unstable are at risk from dropping out.
The following proposal offers a realistic plan in order to meet the needs of those financially
unstable students, and to continue support their studies. The plans success depends on how
other students would react on to the said project.

Background
Though, student cooperative stores havent been established in the University of Cebu, Atty. Go
has offered a lot of financial aid, in order to help students fulfill their dreams of finishing a
degree. University of Cebu has offered and accepted a lot of scholarships, and has been
academically ready for almost every course. Student cooperative stores are helpful alternatives
when scholarship slots have been taken.

Statement of Problem
With the increase in tuition fee, students face a problem of halting their studies. Despite the
number of scholarship offers, these offers could not cover all students who are financially
unstable. Due to the increase in students, the number of facilities and establishments has been
increased, which may be also the reason behind the inflation of tuition fee. Also, with our
economic status, students demands increase. With all of these factors, a single student may opt
for ceasing his/her studies.

Need
Despite the scholarship offers, our school needs to create a student cooperative store, in order
to help other students cover up their financial needs. With this, financial constraints among
students would be solved.

Scope
The following plan includes:

1. Creating a student cooperative store for University of Cebu

2. A platform on who is qualified for the dedicated slot
3. Project costs and mechanics

Proposed Plan

The following plan is to aid student finances by creating a student cooperative store in
University of Cebu

Methods
We can overcome financial constraints among students by creating a student cooperative store.
With that solution we should do the following steps:

Establish a store. By having a store, there will be a place for students to gather around and buy
some goods. It is also the same place, where students can deposit and invest, as well as
withdraw their savings. One thing to consider is the location of the store. The store must be
easily seen and accessible.

Developing a system. By developing a system, students are informed about how things run in
the cooperative store. The system should be well-constructed, organized and understandable.
The system is divided into two concepts: the consumers, and the investors. Students in the
university invest into the store, while authorized students managing the store, uses the funds to
generate larger amount of money. Money gained in the store will be returned back to those
depositors with a minimum increase from their deposit. The system should be explained in a
concise manner.

Propagating the system of the cooperative store. The stores success is dependent to the
amount of people engaging in the store. With the increase of students, we can capitalize the
situation and it could lead to the success of the store. A member from the store should
propagate about the system, in order for other students to know, that the store and system
exists.

Acquiring competent members. The stores capabilities depend on the people managing it.
Acquiring members with skills, knowledge and leadership, creates a strong requirement for the
store to function well.

Knowing what students want. With the idea of what the students want and need, we can easily
know what the cooperative store could offer. The stores aim is to provide students with their
wants and need, while helping other students aid the financial constraints. The greater the
students need, the greater it can offer help to other students.

Establishing effective assessment. By ensuring that all transactions are transparent, effective
assessment is implemented in order to show where funds are going through. It is also
responsible for student follow-ups about their investment and savings.

The proposed budget for the cooperative store, to be installed in University of Cebu is tabulated

Feasibility
The feasibility of this proposal is dependent to acquiring all of the needed materials and if the
specific goals are achieved. Various tests should be done in order to determine the final
coverage of the proposal. Receiving great amount of positive response from others means that
the demand is great and is highly needed. Upon acquiring all the needed materials, the store
should be established and selection of deserving student members should follow. A system is
then created, by which everyone agrees upon. The system is decided by the members, as well
as the planning of shifts during working on the cooperative store. Following all methods above
will establish the cooperative store successfully.

The success of the cooperative store is essential for the student members running the
store, since funds gained, is used to aid their financial constraints. Reaction from co-students,
play an important role to the success of the cooperative store.
With competent, responsible and good leadership, the said cooperative store will be a very
great help to those students with financial problems.

Personnel
Students involved in creating and managing the cooperative store are passionate about their
goals: to serve and help students with their needs, and help overcome their financial deficiency.
Selection of student members is open for all courses. Members are selected according to their
skills, determination and passion to help others and finish their studies. The success of the
student cooperative store is in accordance to the passion of students and their desire to help
others.

CONCLUSION
Creating a student cooperative store is a great aid for students, hitting two targets with one
stone: helping students with financial problems and helping co-students, providing their needs.
There are many ways the student cooperative store could help others. Through the methods it
possesses, it can help students save from their expenses, provide their needs, and help others.
The success of the student cooperative store is dependent to how other students react and
engage in to the system. With the increase in students, there is a hope for a positive response
and with the different demands student members will have a vast choice of things to offer.
If the proposal is approved, it would be a great help to students with financial difficulties
for them to continue supporting their needs.
