Preparation
Duplicate one worksheet for each student.

Procedure

1. Tell students that they are going to do an activity that will

help them get to know their classmates better. They may
find people in the class who share their interests or have
had similar experiences.
2. Distribute the worksheets, one to each student. Have
students fill in the blanks in the worksheet with their own
information and ideas. Point out that some blanks include
a hint about what to write.
3. Tell students that they will have to ask questions to get
this information from their classmates. Model the activity
by having students look at the first item: (Find someone
who) was born in (month). Elicit the questions students
can ask to get this information. (When were you born? or
Were you born in (month)?) Have a student ask several
classmates the questions until he / she finds someone who
was born in the same month. Then have the student write
the name in the space on the sheet. Do one or two more
example items with different verb tenses.
4. Have students stand up and walk around the room asking
and answering questions. Tell them that they dont have to
ask the questions in order. They can choose questions that
are most interesting for them.
