OBJETIVO GENERAL
DEL MDULO
Colegir la morfologa y sintaxis del idioma ingls de uso habitual en textos tcnicos
del rea a partir de la lectura con actitud reflexiva.
Valorar la existencia de textos tcnicos del rea, escritos en ingls como una
herramienta til para el desempeo de su profesin.

SUFIJOS
Debido a que esto es tan comn, los diccionarios solo incluyen informacin
acerca de los plurales de las palabras cuando ellos no se forman simplemente
agregando una -s al final de la palabra.
Por ejemplo:
Si buscas la palabra child (nio) el diccionario te indicar que el plural de esa palabra
es children

Otro sufijo bastante comn es -ed, que se utiliza para formar el pasado simple
y pasado participio de los verbos en Ingls.
Por ejemplo:
Debido a que resulta muy simple agregar -ed a los verbos para formar su
pasado y pasado participio, el diccionario solo entrega informacin de dichos tiempos
verbales cuando ellos no son formados simplemente agregando -ed.
Por ejemplo:
Si buscas el verbo to see, el diccionario te indicar que la forma pasada de ese verbo
es saw y que su pasado participio es seen
Es muy importante que comprendas que esto solamente ocurre cuando nos
referimos a los verbos , ya que al referirnos a adjetivos la terminacin -ed si aparece
en el diccionario, por ejemplo:

El tiempo pasado simple indica una accin o situacin que ocurri en el pasado
(ayer, anoche, el ao pasado, etc.)
En Ingls existen dos formas de conjugar los verbos en pasado, la de los verbos
regulares y la de los verbos irregulares. Los verbos regulares forman el pasado y el
participio aadiendo la slaba ed o d al infinitivo. Los verbos irregulares se forma
por medio de cambios internos en el verbo que consisten generalmente en el cambio de
la vocal en el pasado y la adicin del sufijo en, n o ne en el participio con o sin
cambio de vocal. Sin embargo, no existen patrn que determine la forma (regular o
irregular) de un verbo, por lo tanto, es recomendado memorizar el enunciado, el cual
consiste en las tres formas principales del mismo, infinitivo, pasado y participio
(infinitive, past and past participle).
En el anexo N1, Ud. encontrar una lista de los verbos irregulares ms comunes
en Ingls y sus respectivas conjugaciones.

reiterated its non-interventionist policy
Our Government is proud of the low taxation policy, free market operation and the
enterprising nature of the economy, as it believes that all these lay the strong financial
foundations that make possible the economic boom in Hong Kong. Hence, the role of
the Government is to interfere, as little as possible, in the public sector, for fear of
damaging the "normal" operation of the market.
Government spending in money terms has never exceeded 20 per cent of the Gross
Domestic Product (GDP), since 1945. Many people in Hong Kong are scared by the
spectre of unemployment and yet the Government has done nothing to solve the
problem, because administration officials do not want to spoil the miraculous market
mechanism. There is talk of "self help" by entrepreneurs involved in the market.
Meanwhile, the unemployment rate is rocketing. I believe the Government should act to
