IV. Procedure:
A. Motivation
Divide the class into 2. As many as they can, each group will give a
safety rules that they know inside the laboratory.
B. Presentation
Instruct each group about the mechanics of the activity.
C. Lesson Proper
1. Let the students give as many as they can recall on the guidelines in the
science laboratory.
2. Let each group draw on the board some of the safety signs they know.
3. Use a powerpoint presentation to present the topic.
C. Evaluation:
Give at least 5 safety rules and 5 safety signs.
D. Assignment:
Review for a test tomorrow
Lesson Proper:
1. Let the student review for five (5) minutes.
2. Conduct a quiz regarding on the laboratory apparatus and guidelines inside the science
laboratory.
3. Checking of papers
Lesson Proper:
1. Give back the paper to the owner and conduct another evaluation to those who got 15 and
below. Ask those students who got 16 and above to monitor the work of their classmates.

D. Concepts:
Dimensional Analysis (also called factor label method or unit factor
method) is a problem solving technique that facilitates computation
numbers with units.
SI units of measurements are used for scientific purposes
Accuracy refers to the nearness of measurements to a reference value
or standard value.
Precision refers to the repeatability of measurements or closeness of
measurements to each other
Significant figures are composed of certain numbers and other
uncertain number. It used to determine the accuracy of measurements
or the precision of measuring devices.
Scientific notation is written as a number from 1 to 9 and multiplied by
10 whose exponent indicates the number of times the decimal point.
IV. Procedure:
A. Motivation
Using a Venn diagram, ask the students about the relationship of
science and mathematics including the reasons why we need
mathematics in science.
B. Presentation
Let the student to bring out their mathematics notebook. Emphasize the
conversion factors found at the back of their notebook.
C. Lesson Proper
June 11, 2016
1. Discuss the role of mathematics in the field of science. Recognize
the power of science and indicate to practice honesty in
measurements.
June 12, 2016
Review: Showing alternative materials of laboratory apparatus.
2. Introduce concept in a box found in page 34. Differentiate accuracy
and precision by giving example.
Lesson Learned:
1. Let the students copy the lecture
2. Give more examples regarding on how to convert English and Metric System and
significant figures and scientific notation
E. Evaluation:
Conduct a quiz regarding the lesson
F. Assignment:
Define the following terms:
a. matter
b. solute
c. solvent
d. physical change
e. chemical change
