WPPSI-III is the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence test 3rd edition

If a youngster assembles his/her Purpose: Accurately measure intellectual abilities in young children
Which of the WPPSI-III subtests Ages: 2:6 through 7:3 years
Norms: Scaled Scores by age, Factor Index Scores, IQs
Administration: Ages 2:6-3:11: 30-45 minutes
Ages 4:0-7:3: 60 minutes

WPPSI-III including a lower age range (down to 2:6 years). The test has been extensively reviewed for bias at all levels and
has 15 subtests, with di erent core subtests for ages 2:6-3:11 and 4:0-7:3 years. New subtests such as Picture Naming,
Receptive Vocabulary, Matrix Reasoning, Picture Concepts, Symbol Search, and Coding are designed to measure abilities
such as verbal and non-verbal uid reasoning, receptive versus expressive vocabulary, and processing speed.

WPPSI-III provides clinically useful information for diagnosis and planning. Validity studies with numerous other measures,
including the new Wechsler Individual Achievement Test-Second Edition (WIAT-II), have been conducted to re ect federal
legislation requirements and the use of multiple criteria for identi cation of children for special services. Also being
conducted are studies with various special groups, including mental retardation (mild and moderate), developmental delay,
Autism, Asperger's Syndrome, receptive and expressive language disorders, children at risk, motor impairment, Attention-
De cit/Hyperactivity Disorder, cognitively gifted, and limited English pro ciency.
