1Summarization
The TH series single and multi-loop controllers can display analogue, alarm and process value.
Inputs are thermocouple, types S,B,R,T,J,K,E, RTD PT100, direct current and voltages. The user will
find the software straight forward to operate. The controller can be used for either one loop display, two
loop display, one loop/analogue output, two loop display/analogue output, main relay output control,
double relay output control, PID controlled SSR, SCR output, time proportional control, 0-20mA PID
control, and phase angle control/Auto-control..etc. The unit will display analogue, alarm, parameter
settings of temperature, pressure, humidity, level control and flux. The Controller has a wide range of
industrial applications including chemical, complex process furnaces, heat treatment, pressure, flux
control etc. It can be configured for upto 30 ramp soak segments (12 standard, please advise when
ordering). Very economical for its applications and is especially suited to ovens, autoclaves and envi-
ronmental chambers where time is changed as a function. It uses RS485 connections for digital commu-
nications and interfacing with DCS systems (please advise if required when ordering).
The controller has two loop inputs that can be used for main input and valve feedback position input,
non control input signal, PID control, time proportional control, manual control and control functions.
This can replace the positioner on an electric modulating valve with or without feedback potentiometer.

Set value display (SV): 4 digit yellow LED display. Can also display
control output, valve feedback position or reverse input value.
2.2Preset mode: Panel settings (if ramp & soak feature is required, please advise if
required when ordering).

5.2.4 Control Parameter settings

The PV display is the parameter code, the SV displays the parameter value. The SET
button is to select parameters for change, SET and UP buttons is to move to the next
digit for change. The up and down buttons is to change the value. Press SET button to
confirm settings. Different models will have different parameters. We will supply with
the correct settings before sale. This only leaves the user having to choose their desired
input signal and offset adjustment.

of adjustment. Setting instructions as follows:
(1) Cycle time for SSR/SCR output should be set short about 12sec norm-
ally, this will improves accuracy. For relays this should be no less than 4 0-250
6 Cycle time
sec. This will prolong the relay life. At the same time if it is set too long it
will slow down the reaction time. This is normally set to15seconds.
(2) Set the Ct to 0 when the current or time proportional
output is selected, the adjustor will be faster and more accurate

6 COMMUNICATION PROTOCOLS
6.1. Selecting the Baud Rate Applicable for RS485. Options are, 9600, 19200, or 38400. For multi
computer addresses, the address is to have a start and finish digit with a 9 digit address(9th digit is 1)
total of 11 digits used. When the host computer receives information from the controller, the num
bers change to one start and end digit and 8 address digits making 10 in total.
6.2. If the start, end and address bits are not the same, the controller will not loop back or receive data.
If they are the same but the command or data length is incorrect, it will loop back and display
error. All the data is sent by ASCII, decimal point by ASCII origin code 61H.
Loop back with error information flow.
6.3. If the address sent both computer and controller is short then a 0 will be added e.g. 01 will be 30H,
31H
6.4. Loop back data flow configuration
6.5. Commands and functions

-26-

6.5.1 Command reading

Command reading loop back parameter
To determine the length and first start address please refer to the writable parameters page overleaf.
6.5.2 Command writing
The first address reading should be written as mentioned earlier with 8 digits. The first
address is the total bits as stated earlier, or it will fail.
6.5.3 The characters used with this instrument applies to the TH9 and TH7 (what about the TH4 and TH8)

7 Malfunction Elimination
If the main input signal is disconnected then the unit displays UUU1 or nnn1. The
controller will not function or adjust. If current output is used, it will display the
last value before the malfunction.
It will remain as on/off in case of relay output. Control output value will be set to 0
(non-output) with temperature control.
