NEW NURSE
* Depresses level of prostate specific antigen (PSA)
* Monitor for urinary changes
* Adverse effects include: impotence, decreased amount
of ejaculate, and decreased libido.
* Administration may alter glucose tolerance test, thyroid
tests, and serum cholesterol. Suppresses clotting factors.
* May decrease insulin requirements.
* I&O, monitor for weight gain associated with Na and
water retention
* Adverse effects include; Na and water retention with
edema, suppression of clotting factors, acne,
hyperkalemia, gynecomastia and anaphylaxis (rare).

Vardenafil (Levitra), Sildenafil (Viagra), Erectile Dysfunction
Tadalfil (Cialis)
* Cautious use in patients with history of cardiac disease,
peptic ulcer diseases, GERD, and hepatic disease.
* Contraindicated in patients taking nitrates or patients
with severe cardiac disease.
* Generally well tolerated, adverse effects usually
transient and mild.
* Increased risk of serious hypotension if used within 4
hours of doxazosin, tamsulosin, cimetidine,
erythromycin, and ketoconazole.
*Serious adverse effects include: exfoliative dermatitis,
severe hypotension, cardiac arrest, sudden cardiac death.
