EPSE 403 Education of Students with Developmental Disabilities in Inclusive Settings Course provided
educators and others with information related to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in
inclusive school and community settings.

EPSE 512 Critical Issues in Special Education Course provided an introduction to a variety of issues and
problems, in the field of special education and provided students with an opportunity to critically analyze a
small selection of key issues.

EPSE 549 Seminar in Autism Course incorporated a study of classic readings in autism, problem-based
learning, and traditional approaches to research synthesis to investigate empirically-based learning and
perceptual processes, assessment, and intervention supports relevant to autism.

EPSE 574 Principles of Applied Behaviour Analysis Course introduced the basic principles of behaviour
analysis and provided opportunities to identify principles of behaviour in everyday professional and
personal lives. Course emphasized advanced theory and principles, rather than the application of principles
in clinical/teaching practice for individuals with developmental disabilities.

EPSE 575 Seminar in Instructional Methods for Persons with Significant Challenges Course focused on the
use of instructional techniques based on the principles of applied behaviour analysis, for individuals who
are difficult to teach (e.g., individuals with developmental disabilities who experience significant learning
challenges such as autism spectrum disorder, intellectually disability, Down Syndrome, etc.).

EPSE 576 Assessment and Positive Behaviour Support in School and Community Settings Course examined
the concepts and empirical foundations underlying the processes and techniques for conducting functional
behaviour assessments and designing individualized behaviour support plans for person who engage in
problem behaviour in school and community contexts.

EPSE 577 Seminar in Assessment and Positive Behavior Support Seminar provided students with an
advanced understanding of functional assessment and positive behaviour support with children, youth,
and adults experiencing behaviour problems in school, home, and community settings.

EPSE 578 Ethics for Behaviour Analysts A requirement of the Behaviour Analyst Certification Board (BACB),
this course provided knowledge of the professional and ethical compliance codes and core ethical
principles that are consistent with the professional role of an applied behaviour analyst and provided
students with the ability to understand the application of the BACB

EPSE 590 Graduating Seminar Seminar was the capstone experience for the M.Ed. program. Students were
assisted in the development of a professional e-portfolio that reflects their professional goals and
objectives in an integrated way. Students were also supported in preparing a presentation of a topic
related to their graduate work to other students, faculty, and the broader community.

EPSE 593 Design and Analysis of Research with Small Samples and Single Subjects Course covered general
methodological information as well as specific details and single subject research designs and the use of
single subject methods in applied settings. This course also introduced issues and applications of statistical
procedures to single subject data.
