Course description Content

Introduction to Computing (IT)This course is the introduction to the fundamentals of

computer system (hardware & software), computer network, the internet and the their
applications, its impact to society together with the type of information that they are able
to deal with and its brief history. It provides us with the bases to be able to later deal with
subjects related to computer architecture.

Mathematics in the Modern World (MATH1)

This course explores the nature of mathematics, appreciation of its practical and
aesthetic dimensions, and application of various mathematical tools in the 21st
century. It also exposes students quantitative reasoning and decision-making in
everyday life. Topics to be included are from the areas of number theory, discrete
mathematics, linear algebra, probability, and geometry. Furthermore, the course
aims to equip students with functional mathematical literacy needed to be able to
respond with the demands of the modern world.

Technical Drawing (TD1)

This course covers graphical communication, freehand lettering and sketching,
dimensioning, orthographic and isometric drawings, auxiliary views, sectional
views, pictorial drawings, assembly and exploded detailed drawings, geometrical
symbols and use of drafting instruments.

Psychology 1 (PSY 1)
This course provides an overview of the scientific study of human behavior. Topics include
history, methodology, biopsychology, sensation, perception, learning, motivation, cognition,
abnormal behavior, personality theory, social psychology, and other relevant topics.
Purposive Communication (ENG1)
This course expounds on the rationale of valuing the principles of organizing researched
information necessary in creating written/oral communication and presentation, creates
concept map/outline, synthesizing information, and analyzing the audience and chooses
appropriate technology for communication. It also applies the principles of technical
writing, evaluating clients background for appropriate response / communication, judging
the quickest, convenient, & most appropriate ways to convey/communicate business letter /
technical write-ups (digital or traditional way) vis--vis to client, , and creating technical

occupational health and safety procedures and the provision of safe environment. This
course covers on how to control hazards and to maintain safety as well as the use of
protective devices.

Computer Architecture & Organization (IPCH)

This course covers the interface between the machine and the software, functional
behavior of a computer system as viewed by a programmer, logical aspects of system
implementation as seen by a programmer
instruction sets, instruction formats, data types and addressing modes

Fundamentals of Management - Theories and Practices (MGT 1)

This course an introduction to the management function. It will focus on the theory and
fundamental concepts of management including planning, organizing, staffing, motivating
and controlling. This course will review the evolution of management thought, function,
theory and practice and will stress current approaches and emerging concepts.
Course Outcome (Competency Skill)

Upon completion of this course, students/trainees will be able to:
