Decreased self-esteem. a) Positive Self-Talk- This strategy encourages students to focus on what can they can do, rather than having them focus on shortcomings. b) Choral Response- When using choral response, no one student is singled out. This strategy can increase active involvement by lowering the affective filter. Behavior / Organization 1. Medical noncompliance at times. a) Self-Monitoring This strategy encourages students to be self-aware regarding their attention to a task. b) Visual Schedules: They support students who have difficulty following directions. Visual schedules can help increase students flexibility and acceptance of change. 2. Exhibits fear, worry, anxiety, stress, anger, and a) Self-Regulation- Using positive reinforcement, guilt. students can monitor, evaluate, and reinforce their own on task behavior. b) Journaling- Journaling can be used as a form of assessment, and to help students express their thoughts and feelings.
