Abstract
Organ donation is the process in which the removal of organs or tissues from the body
of a person who has recently died from a living donor and then is transplanted to another
compatible person. Organs and tissues are removed in procedures similar to surgery.
People of all ages can be organ and tissue donors. There are many more donations of the
dead than of living people. According to the Ministry of Public Health MSP, (2011):
The process of donation and transplantation involves deeply human, technical and
ethical, touching our deeper conceptions about life and acceptance of death. This
process is possible through the constant training of professionals capable of
understanding the intense pain of people who lose a loved one, building trustful
bonds and supporting the donor's family in their duel.
A total of 1'564,095 people renewed or requested for the first time their identity
document in 2012, of which 1'441,449 said yes to the donation, being the province of
Carchi that showed a greater interest in the subject with 100% Donors, According to data
obtained by the Ministry of Public Health.
As it shows a great need in the population to collaborate with the plan of organ
donation, for this it is indispensable that the community is educated in all the processes
and benefits that the donation implies
It is for this project to gather the necessary information that the population must know,
as well as contribute to this process and improve the quality of life of the population.
The methodology of this project is documentary and descriptive, since it is necessary
to seek information from several reliable sources to describe in an orderly manner all the
components involved in organ donation.

Introduccin
