to Abuja in the
northern part of Ni-
geria for a few
years, before we
were called to pro-
ceed to the US. We
moved to Rolla in August 2015,
when my wife, Feyi began her
study for a PhD degree in Geol-
ogy & Geophysics at the Mis-
souri University of Science &
Technology, Rolla.
Feyi holds a Bachelor de-
gree in Geology and a Master of
Science degree in Geological
Information Systems (GIS) from
the University of Ibadan, Nige-
ria, while I hold a Bachelor of
Science in Economics and a
Master of Science degree in
Business Administration with
specialization in Marketing
from University of Lagos, Nige-
ria.

WOMEN'S FALL RETREAT
Ladies, mark your calendars! The annual
womens fall retreat will be October 14, 2017
from 9:00 AM - 2PM here at the church. Guest
speaker is Traice Akins. Traice
was born in Arizona and has
lived in 9 states, recently settling
in Rolla, Missouri. She is a widow
with three sons; her youngest is
a sophomore at Missouri S&T.
She currently works as a parale-
gal and enjoys reading, playing her violin and
spending time with friends. Traice has learned
much through her life experiences and is grateful
God is faithful. She has been blessed to speak to
many groups and earnestly desires to obey God
with the story He has given her.

Discussion Group: Bible as Foundation of West-
ern Culture
When: 7:30 to 9, Sunday evenings

What: Small-group interactive discussion focused
on understanding the Bible. Designed for stu-
dents who have English as their non-native lan-
guage and/or are from a culture that does not
highlight the Bible.

but subject to change, based upon class sched-

OPERATION GO MEETING
OUR CHURCHS NEIGHBORS
This years Operation GO will be the last two
weeks of August and the first week of Septem-
ber. Teams of volunteers will go door to door
canvassing the neighborhood and inviting our
neighbors to church. We go specifically into
MS&T student housing areas near the church
building. This outreach has been well received in
the past with many students becoming Chris-
tians and active in church. If you have a heart for
young people and would like to participate in this
outreach, please meet Pastor Chuck in the
church foyer for instructions and materials on
Wednesday, August 23the first night of the out-
reach, or either of the next two Wednesday eve-
nings. We will leave at 6:30 p.m. and return near
the end of the church service.
INTERNATIONAL CHOIR CONTINUES TO WELCOME MEMBERS
The International Choir was formed in 2010
to encourage international participation in church
services through praise and worship with an in-
ternational perspective. This enhances shared
cultures and solidifies diversity, yet unity, in the
body of Christ. It is a great opportunity to serve
and share in the joy of fellowship.
Since its inception, the International Choir
has been blessed with Christians from various
countries across 4 continents coming together,
worshipping and praising the Lord in different
languages. From Brazil, China, Ghana, Liberia,
Nigeria, Botswana, India, South Korea, and USA,
we worship together bound by our shared salva-
tion experience through God's grace. Every per-
son whose heart is open to the Lord and shares

holics Victorious is having its annual fall outreach.

Christian band Unspoken will be

in September 2015. We have since settled down
here largely because of the unction of God on
the teachings in the church which has continu-
ously been a blessing to our family. Ayosore vol-
unteers in the childrens church while Feyi serves
as ANCF Secretary and enjoys being part of the
International Praise and Worship team.
The Rolla First Assembly community has
continued to nourish our physical, spiritual &
moral need with great experiences and spiritual
encounters in all the services and outreaches.
We are grateful that Pastor Chuck has also
shown fatherly love to us as a family and made
our settlement in Rolla through this great family
church a great experience to date.
We have also enjoyed the friendship and
support of the pastoral team, members of the
church and Kidcare America which has been
quite impactful on our girls as they have become
more resourceful and found peace with their
peers and teachers alike.
We are sincerely honored to be singled out
of this great Christian family church to be fea-
tured in this edition of the First Assembly Church
Rolla newsletter. It could only be that Gods
grace is resting on our family, and we are not un-
mindful of this, while thanking Pastor Chuck &
Sister Annette for this great gesture.

 KIDCARE TO BEGIN FOURTEENTH YEAR THIS MONTH
Fall is in the air! School, busy schedules, and
hopefully some cooler weather are around the
corner! I wanted to take a little space here in the
newsletter to talk to the church about KidCare
America. We are so excited to begin our 14th year
of KidCare America here at First
Assembly. God has blessed us im-
mensely, and we know He has
used KidCare America in numer-
ous ways to bring families to
church, teach children about God,
and build relationships that are
still thriving. Over the past 13
years, several hundred students
have benefitted from this hands-
on ministry.
For those of you who may be unfamiliar with
exactly what KidCare America is, or what we do,
please give me a moment of your time.
During the school year, we open our doors
here at First Assembly three days each week to
students in 1st grade through high school. We
help with schoolwork, teach them about God, and
teach them about life, while building relation-
ships with the students and their families. Many
of the students in the program are not from our
church, and we wouldnt have it any other
way! This is a ministry for the community, and
there is no cost involved for families enrolling
their child. Many students struggle with school,
while others deal with difficult home situa-
tions. But many students simply need a solid,
safe, positive place to be during the after-school
period. Volunteers fix meals for the students, tu-
tor students, drive vans, and teach lessons. We
also have paid positions. These Mentors work di-
rectly with a small group of students each day
they are here, guiding them through our daily
schedule.
This fall, we are in need of several im-
portant positions to be filled. Several are paid
mentor positions and several are volunteer posi-
tions. The mentor positions require a 10-12 hour
commitment each week. The
days are Mondays, Tuesdays,
and Thursdays after
school. We also are in need of
van drivers and tutors. These
volunteer positions are usually
one day per week. High School
students participating in the A+
program can also do their ser-
vice work here.
We need our church family
praying for these spots to be filled so we can
minister after-school to these 35-40 children
each week. Please also pray how you may possi-
bly be able to partner with us. We need prayer
support, financial support, and volunteer sup-
port. Each year, we have to raise most of our
budget through financial partners and fundrais-
ers. Many in our church congregation already
give monthly, and we thank you deeply for help-
ing us financially. But I know there are some in
the church that I think with a little encourage-
ment could make a big impact in this pro-
gram. We have slowly grown over the past 13
years, and so have our expenses. This year our
budget has grown to $90,000. Please pray
about being a financial partner with us! As First
Assembly ministers to the Rolla community
through this program, this is an excellent way for
you to become involved in a multitude of ways.

All Nations Christian Fellowship is a ministry

We are a campus Christian organization that
seeks to serve the student community at Mis-

activities include prayer, worship, Bible study,

 CALC: DISCUSSION BASED CHRISTIAN ED CLASS
There goes a tradition at Missouri S&T that a
core class is often referred to as being either for
believers or for nonbelievers. Classes that are and challenging look into many issues prevalent
for nonbelievers tend to be very shallow in nature
and are often simply offered to give a brief back-
ground knowledge or to provide a glimpse into a
certain field. On the other hand, classes that are
considered to be for believers are traditionally
very in-depth, rigorous, and can bring a challenge
to even well-rehearsed minds. Following these
lines, Calculus classes at Missouri S&T are con-
sidered to be for believers, and are often used
as a pre-requisite for many upper level classes
and are mandatory for most engineering majors
on campus. These Calculus courses provide you
with a bedrock of knowledge, and challenge your
CREATIVE WOMAN EXPO SET FOR SATURDAY NOVEMBER 18
Women of the Word Ministry will be having a
new event called "The Creative Woman Expo"
on Saturday, November 18, from 8:00 a.m. to
12:00 p.m. in the Roberts Family Life Cen-
ter. This idea was born out of Proverbs 31. This
chapter speaks about the many qualities of a vir-
tuous woman. The one I would like to share with
you is found in Proverbs 31:13. It says: "She se-
lects wool and flax and works with eager
hands." We would like to invite any woman who
God has blessed with a creative talent to partici-
pate in this event. Whether it is baking, working
with wood, writing, sewing, or anything else that
you have created, this event is for you. You don't
have to cut down a tree to make the wood, pick
cotton to make clothes, or grind your own flour to
make baked goods, but it must be home
made. This event is to encourage women to use
horizons to push you to become an effective en-
gineer; likewise, CALC Class offers an in depth
to college life and society that many of us stu-
dents face on a daily basis.
CALC class is a discussion-based Christian
education class held on Sundays at 10:45 a.m.
in Room 110. The class is offered to high school
seniors and college-aged students who want to
further delve into the infinitely deep word and
wisdom of God and His impact on the world
around us. If you are looking for a class that
challenges you to dig deeper and not only discov-
er what you believe as a Christian, but why you
believe it, then this is the class for you!

is a ministry led by Rose Skyles that helps single
moms financially, spiritually, and emotionally.

keting products or goods previously purchased in
a store or online. All content needs to be appro-
priate for a church function.
