4. Acceptance of Minutes from the Fall 2015 Meeting in Denver, CO.
Acting Chairman Cusatis asked for review and approval of the minutes of the Fall 2015 meeting
in Denver, CO. Since there was no quorum, the minutes of the meeting will be balloted
electronically at ACI 209 site.

5. Status of Subcommittees Reports

- ACI 209R-92 Prediction of Creep, Shrinkage, and Temperature Effects in Concrete
Structures (Reapproved 2008). Matthew DAmbrosia reported that the subcommittee met on
Sunday April 17, 2016 and discussed mainly if the report document should contain specific
models or as initially suggested give a general framework not specific models. The
subcommittee is looking for feedback from the main committee on the document outline.
- Committee members agreed to have a standalone report for models
- Committee members discussed if the ACI 209R-92 Report should be either discarded or
reapproved in 2016. Since the revisions of documents ACI 209.1R, 209.2R and 209.3R will
not be ready for publication before the 2016 expiration date of the ACI 209R-92 Report, it
may need to be reapproved before its expiration to avoid losing the inclusion of ACI 209
reports in the ACI Manual of Concrete Practice.
- Committee members agreed that ACI 209.2R-08 needs to replace the B3 model with the B4
model. Also, delete the outdated models.
- Committee members discussed ideas for increasing participation in committee activities by
inviting research groups in the field to participate in ACI 209 activities such as the MIT
group and CONCREEP at NU. Also, to have sessions at ACI Conventions.
- ACI 209.3R-XX Report is only missing the notations placed in Chapter 2. It will be ready for
the Philadelphia meeting.
- Bernhard Pichler, Chairman of 209-0B, will work on the revision of the ACI 209.1R Report.
- Subcommittee 209-0D met on Sunday April 17, 2016. The subcommittee is moving forward
to develop the report document sections. The first phase will not address specific models, and
the second phase will include full 3D models with full coupling details.
- Roman Wendner proposed and it was agreed to have a separate document 209-5R for the
Rate Type Models not to be included in 209.2R.

6. Other Business

Gianluca Cusatis and Roman Wendner reported the work on the proposed addition to the ACI
318 2019 Code revision to include creep and shrinkage requirements. Gianluca Cusatis will
attend the ACI Subcommittee 318-L meeting on Monday, April 18, 2016 to discuss the progress
of the proposed new sections to the code and will report to the committee

6. Other Business:

- Hani Nassif will send the draft of the ACI 209.4R-XX document to Mario Chiorino and he
will circulate for voting on line.
- ACI Subcommittee 209-0C will submit an outline ballot of their report to be voted on line by
the main committee.

2
- ACI Subcommittee 209-0D will submit an outline ballot of their report to be voted on line by
the main committee.
- Akthem Al-Manaseer questioned: What would be the earliest time to apply tensile creep to a
specimen? Also, should we reach out to the Early Age committee and try to include this
subject in their agenda? Carreira recommended contacting Matthew DAmbrosia who had
worked in this testing.

7. New Business.

No new business.

8. Adjournment.

The meeting adjourned at 10:58 AM.

Respectfully submitted by: Domingo J. Carreira, Secretary, April 23, 2016.
