Re: Head of Mission

I am a multi-disciplined professional with significant experience in programme management in

humanitarian and development context in West Africa, middle east and Asia. Currently, leading the
education component of the UNDPs early recovery project titled FATA transition programme.
Through my work with INGOs and UN, I have been able to portray a proven track record of
developing and initiating projects from a scratch, influencing key stakeholders and creating high
performing teams to deliver impact at operational and strategic levels. I have led projects, grants and
have accomplished contracts management for donors including USAID, ECHO, DFID, NORAD, WB,
UNHCR, UNICEF, and SIDA. I gained extensive experience in partnership building with and capacity
development of NGOs/CSOs/ CBOs, public and private sectors and have successfully recruited
NGOs as well as private firms and companies as implementing partners during the delivery of
complex humanitarian projects for IRC , DRC and Save the Children in Pakistan, Sierra Leone and
Yemen. I have solid understanding and experience in all phases of project cycle and have
experience in education, child protection, WASH, health, community development, food
security/livelihood heath/nutrition and migration issues. I have proven ability to work in partnership
with national authorities, NGOs, donor and other stakeholders. I maintained excellent relations with
government counterpart and was successful in acquisition of no objection certificates (NOC) for the
IRCs humanitarian programmes in Pakistan and the project based sub-agreements for DRC and
SCI in Yemen- a pre-requisite to deliver life saving humanitrain assistance to IDPs in Pakistan and
Yemen.

I have demonstrated experience in team management and leadership, and have repeatedly
performed as an inspiring leader who inculcates team spirit through teaching interdependency and
providing continuous mentoring and support. I promote learning, and motivate and encourage team
members to keep themselves abreast with the latest trends in development through various means. I
also am a good trainer and have exhibited skills in event management by organizing workshops &
seminars, involving international participants. My superiors at DRC, UNDP, IRC, National Education
Foundation, IOM, GIZ, and others will surely vouch that I have proven abilities to work under
extreme pressure and difficult circumstances and have been able to meet tight deadlines
continuously.

I have gained experiences in financial planning and management, through designing grants and
developing budgets, spending plan/cash flow, tracking expenditure through structured budget and its
spending plan for the DRC, IRC, IOM, NEF and SCI. I have raised funding for IRC and DRC from
donors including UN (UNICEF, UNHCR, WFP) and other institutional donor such DFID, ECHO, EU,
SDC). I possess administrative, financial and reporting awareness of major donors. I possess
excellent computer, communication and presentation skills and am highly adaptable to multi-culture
environment. My writing skills were appreciated by supervisors, and have represented my
organizations well to external stakeholders. I believe going to the field provides excellent learning
opportunities and hence also enjoy travelling to the field.

I have gained solid credentials in education and possess a Masters degree in Rural Development
from Agriculture University Peshawar, Pakistan; obtained a certificate in Project Leadership from
eCornell University USA; and a certificate course in conflict resolution from USIS USA (online). I am
very confident that my skills, experiences and knowledge make me an excellent fit for this position.
