Release Note for Release 10793 (7 March 2016)

General Features
User Interface
In data tables, a new Find Column button allows you to quickly locate a specific column in large tables.
In the Antenna Comparison window, a legend indicating the colour of the pattern for each antenna is displayed in the lower left corner.
You can now enable or disable a pattern by clicking the corresponding checkbox.
If the Point Analysis window is open, it now reverts to the Profile view when opening a document. This prevents running an unnecessary
calculation when you start a new session.
You can now update an existing favourite map view.
The ability to load and save data table column display settings (whether to hide or show columns and the display order) now applies to
all data tables, including those from elements of the Parameters explorer.
You can now use the OR operator in the Find on Map tool typing the pipe character ("|") in the search criteria.
Geo Data
You can now set the transparency level of online maps and imported images by using the Opacity slider in the Display properties.
When importing BIL clutter class files, Atoll now interprets "nodata" as well as "nodatavalue" to associate areas with no data to the class 0.
Propagation Models
Atoll's propagation model library now includes a new propagation model based on the 3GPP TR 38.900. This is a semi-deterministic
propagation model with components adapted to high frequencies (> 6GHz) used in 5G deployments. It is possible to calibrate this
propagation model using measurement data collected at 5G frequencies.
Coverage Predictions
When you export a coverage prediction to a vector file, a display configuration file (.cfg) is now simultaneously exported with the same
file name and in the same directory as the exported coverage prediction. You can disable this behaviour by setting the
EnableStudyCompanionFileExport parameter in the [Studies] section of the Atoll.ini file.
You can now reload the data in coverage prediction reports by clicking the Refresh button in the report window toolbar.
In addition to the difference between numerical results of two coverage predictions, the prediction comparison function now allows you
to calculate the sum, average, minimum, and maximum, values from the numerical results of two coverage predictions.
When comparing predictions that are not based on the same units or resolutions, only discrete values are now available.
Traffic Maps
It is possible to define indoor/outdoor status for fixed subscribers by importing a fixed subscriber list containing a custom field called
"Indoor".
RF Repeaters
By default, Atoll models selective RF repeaters that only amplify and transmit useful signals from their donor transmitters. It is now
possible to model non-selective RF repeaters that amplify and transmit useful as well as interfering signals by setting the
RFRepeatersFullInterferences option in the [Studies] section of the Atoll.ini file.
Automatic Cell Planning
A slideshow display mode is now available for ACP coverage predictions. When the slideshow is enabled, ACP coverage predictions are
displayed in sequence on the map at a specified speed.
It is now possible to specify a maximum number of storeys for a building to be considered by the multi-storey module by setting the
MaxStoreyNb parameter in the [ACPTplMultistoreyPage] section of the ACP.ini file. The maximum number of storeys can also be specified
by using the Maximum number of storeys option on the Optimisation > Multi-Storey tab.
Clutter and DTM heights are both considered in the search high points capability of the automatic candidate site positioning tool.
Calculation Server
You can now set the load balancing policy to optimise thread distribution when multiple users access the distribution server interactively
by setting the MultiUserDCS parameter in the [RemoteCalculation] section of the Atoll.ini file.

LTE Networks
Carrier Aggregation
By default, Atoll considers that service from the PCell must be available in order for SCell throughputs to be aggregated. It is now possible
to aggregate throughputs from SCells, from which the radio signal quality is above the defined SCell activation threshold, even when the
radio signal quality from the PCell is below the minimum required for accessing any bearer, by setting the
ThresholdForCAWithNoThroughputOnPcell option in the [LTE] section of the Atoll.ini file.
Coordinated multipoint transmission and reception (CoMP)
Atoll now models the uplink joint reception mode of coordinated multipoint transmission and reception (CoMP).
Coverage Predictions
The Effective Signal Analysis coverage predictions now allow calculations for different servers:
The best server (as in previous versions)
The best server with overlap with all other potential servers within a defined margin
The best server per layer
The best server per layer with overlap with all other potential servers of the same layer within a defined margin
All servers
It is now possible to display the aggregated frequency bands per pixel through new display options available in the Coverage by
Throughput (DL) and (UL) coverage predictions.
Network Configuration Using the AFP
PSS ID allocation algorithm for co-site cells has been improved. The AFP now takes into account the difference between azimuths of co-
site transmitters for improved PSS allocation. The effect of this improvement is noticeable on four- and six-sector sites.

LPWA Networks
Point Analysis
You can now obtain numerical values of signal levels and interference by using the Details view of the Point Analysis tool.
The calculation parameters of the Reception view and Interference view of the Point Analysis tool now include an option to consider
macro-diversity gain.
Multi-point Analysis
Multi-point analyses are now available in the LPWA module.
The condition parameters of the subscriber analysis now include an option to consider macro-diversity gain.
Station Template Properties
Cell definition per sector is now available in the LPWA module.
Network Settings
The definition of different network layers with different priorities is now available in the LPWA module.

Release Note for Build 10366 (28 November 2016)

Working Environment
User Interface
You can now press CTRL to directly select multiple sites or transmitters in the Network explorer or on the map. This enables you to quickly
create filters, groups or site and transmitter lists.
The Advanced Data Filtering window now supports an "end with" filter by using the "*" wildcard character to replace any alphanumerical
characters at the beginning of a text.
The Find on Map and Advanced Data Filtering windows now support the "?" wildcard character for replacement of a single
alphanumerical character at the beginning of a text. This wildcard can only be used as the first character of a text object and cannot be
combined with other wildcards or operators.
When an object is selected with in the Find on Map window, if the corresponding data table is open, then the object is automatically
highlighted in the table as well as on the map. When objects are found with the Find on Map window, you can copy to the clipboard the
list of their names.
The fill down and fill up operations used in tables to enter the same values in adjacent cells of a column can now be undone.
You can now press SHIFT while clicking the expand or collapse button in the explorer windows to expand or collapse all folders. You can
also press CTRL while clicking to expand or collapse all folders marked as visible.
In the Site explorer, you can now specify the level of detail of the tree view. Click the two arrows in the title bar of the Site explorer to
collapse or expand all nodes at a specific level of the tree.
The zoom capability has been improved and simplified. You can directly use the mouse wheel to zoom in and out on the map window.
Zooming in, zooming out, and zooming on a specific area can now be done from a single toolbar button.
You can now modify the thumbnail preview of Atoll open documents or view of documents in the Windows taskbar by using the Windows
> Show Thumbnails in the Taskbar menu.

A slideshow display mode is now available for coverage predictions and simulations. When the slideshow is enabled, coverage predictions
or simulations are displayed in sequence on the map at a specified speed.
You can now centre the map window on the receiver of the Point Analysis window.
You can now define favourite views and easily navigate from different views. Favourite views contain the map position, zoom level,
geographic data set, and optionally the definition of calculation and focus zones.
When you add a field to a data table, you can now create choice lists of integer values and choice lists of associations between an integer
value and a label in addition to text choice lists.
During a calculation, you can display or hide the Tasks window that shows the progress of a calculation by selecting the View > Tasks
menu.
Geo Data
Atoll now supports ECW V3 files (64-bit version only).
Sites and Transmitters
By default, when you move a site, transmitters and antennas are relocated relatively to the new coordinates of the site. You can force
antennas to keep their coordinates when the site moves by setting the MoveSiteMethod parameter in [GUI] section of the Atoll.ini file.
When you delete a transmitter that is a donor for a repeater or a remote antenna, a message warns you that you will also delete the
associated repeaters or remote antennas.
Antennas
The Antenna Selection Assistant now limits its display to the list of antennas available in the Antennas folder. Users can therefore create
and apply their own user configuration file to the Antennas folder, which then limits antenna selection to a subset of the full antenna
database. You can disable this behaviour by setting the LimitChoiceToAntennaFolderConfig parameter in [Antenna] section of the Atoll.ini
file.
It is now possible to smooth the vertical and horizontal patterns of all the antennas in the Antennas folder.
Database
A faster and more reliable method for exporting databases to Microsoft Access has been implemented. You can revert to the older
database export method by setting the ExportTransactionMethod parameter in [Database] section of the Atoll.ini file.
Coverage Predictions
It is now possible to export the actual numerical values of coverage prediction results using the Vertical Mapper GRD raster file format.
When displaying coverage prediction statistics using the histogram capability, you can now filter statistics according to a specific zone and
compare them with other coverage prediction statistics.
Automatic Cell Planning
You can define options to balance speed, memory use, and accuracy in calculations. Additional offsets can be defined for the LPWA
technology by setting the threshLevelOffLPWA and maxMonitorOffLPWA parameters in the [ACPCore] section of the ACP.ini file.
Invalid path loss matrices are now automatically recalculated before running an optimisation setup. The corresponding
autoPathlossrecomputation option is now set to 1 by default in the [ACPMisc] section of the ACP.ini file.
You can define a default number of servers for the 1st-Nth objective by setting the NbServers1stNth option in the [ACPTplObjectivePage]
section of the ACP.ini file.
The histogram capability that enables you to display optimisation results in the form of a graph has been improved. You can now choose
to display optimisation results statistics as a histogram or as a cumulative distribution function, you can filter statistics by selecting a zone,
and you can compare with another optimisation result.

Traffic and Capacity Planning

Simulations
The export data table, data filtering, and data sorting features are now available in the Mobiles tab of a simulation results table by using
context menus.
Traffic Maps
A new fixed subscriber traffic map is now available. This traffic map replaces the deprecated subscriber lists folder, which was available
only in certain technology modules:
The fixed subscriber traffic map is available in all radio technology modules for use in Monte Carlo simulations.
It is also possible to run multi-point analyses on lists of points imported from fixed subscriber traffic maps.
In LTE, WiMAX, Wi-Fi, and LPWA documents, it is also possible to run fixed subscriber analyses through the multi-point analysis folder.
