Textbook: English for Kids (caiet de lucru, clasa pregtitoare)

Lesson: My little body

Structures and vocabulary: body parts

Aims: Ss identify different parts of the body

Ss repeat after the teacher the new words about the parts of the body

Ss colour the parts of the body according to the teachers instructions

Ss watch a Disney movie about the parts of the body.

Materials: textbook, multimedia CD, realia.

Interaction: individual work, whole-class

Procedure:

1. Presentation: T informs Ss that they are going to talk about the parts of the body and asks
them to open their books at the respective page. T shows Ss some picture cards with different
parts of the body. T points and says the word in English. Ss listen and repeat after the T. T
may also draw the part of the body as she names it until she makes a complete body 10
minutes.

2. Controlled-practice: T asks Ss to look in their books and colour each part of the body as
the T names it. Ss repeat after the T and colour in the respective body part. After they finish
they raise their books above their heads and T gives each a sticker 15 minutes

3. Free-practice (Showtime): T asks Ss to arrange themselves in a movie position because


they will watch a collection of cartoons about the parts of the body. T makes sure that all the
Ss can see the laptop and presses play. Ss watch the movie and follow the instructions from
the movie (repeat the words, sentences, sing along, clap, tap, etc.) 20 minutes.

Textbook: English for Kids (caiet de lucru, clasa pregtitoare)

Lesson: Numbers and colours

Structures and vocabulary: numbers, colours, plural form of the nouns.

Aims: Ss identify different colours

Ss repeat after the teacher the new words

Ss colour the numbers and the objects according to the teachers instructions

Ss watch a Disney movie about numbers and colours

Materials: textbook, multimedia CD, realia.

Interaction: individual work, whole-class

Procedure:

1. Presentation: T informs Ss that they are going to talk about numbers and colours and asks
them to open their books at the respective page. T shows Ss some picture cards with different
colours and the numbers from 1 to 10. T points and says the word in English. Ss listen and
repeat after the T. T may also write different numbers as she names them. Ss repeat after the
teacher 10 minutes.

2. Controlled-practice: T asks Ss to look in their books and colour each number/objects as


the T names it. Ss repeat after the T and colour in the respective number/object. After they
finish they raise their books above their heads and T gives each a sticker 15 minutes

3. Free-practice (Showtime): T asks Ss to arrange themselves in a movie position because


they will watch a collection of cartoons about numbers/colours. T makes sure that all the Ss
can see the laptop and presses play. Ss watch the movie and follow the instructions from the

* At certain points in the lessons T plays a song and Ss are encouraged to sing along. Some
song will ask Ss to do specific actions. Since some Ss draw/colour faster, the time allotted for
each activity will be different than the one intended and thus, in many lessons Ss manage to
colour very little and the T covers very little from the intended activities.

* Some songs that the T used through these lessons were: Hokey Pokey; The Numbers Song;
The Colours Song (different versions, some asking Ss to perform some actions); The Wheels
on the Bus and those provided by the textbook.
