English Writing Folder Instructions

1. Sign into your WCPSS Google Drive account.


2. At the top left, click the button that says New. Then click Folder.
3. Name the folder Lastname, Firstname Writing Folder Example - Smith, Bob Writing
Folder
4. Click Create.
5. Find the folder in your Google Drive. Right-click the folder and click Share. Type my
email address (dturley@wcpss.net) into the box and allow me editing rights. Click
Done after youve entered my email. Everything you create in the folder will be
shared with me as well, so you dont need to share each individual folder and file.
6. Open the folder you just created by double-clicking the folder in your Google Drive.
7. Following the same steps above, create 4 new folders within the folder you just created.
Give each folder one of the names below:
a. English I
b. English II
c. English III
d. English IV
8. Double-click on the English I folder to open it.
9. If you typing your essay in Google Docs (if you have already typed it, skip to #10; if you
typed it in Microsoft Word, skip to #11):
a. Click on New.
b. Click on Docs.
c. Name the document Narrative Essay (or whatever essay you are typing). This is
the document you will use to type your essay.
d. Repeat this process for every essay you type. You will house them all here.
10. If you have already typed your essay in Google Docs, use the following
directions:
a. Find the document in your drive.
b. Right click on the document.
c. Click on Move to.
d. Click on your Writing Folder and then on English I and click Move Here.
11. If you used Microsoft Word or another word processing software, use the
following directions:
a. While in your English I folder, click New.
b. Click File Upload.
c. Locate the file on your computer and click to open it.
d. The file should appear in your folder.
