Dear Mr. Vandebergh:

As a pre-final year student of Bachelor of Technology in Production and Industrial

Engineering in Indian Institute of Technology-Roorkee, one of Indias finest technical
institutions, I am writing to convey my strong interest in Johnson and Johnson and apply for
the Project Management Internship position. I am drawn to the experiential learning
opportunities that J&J offers to young students and convinced that J&J is the perfect place
for me to launch fresh ideas, solve critical challenges and bring innovation to the
commercial strategy division. I am confident that my previous experience of working with
the industry and proven track record of success in strategic thinking and problem-solving,
that I have acquired through participation in national and international level competitions
and by working with various campus groups will be an excellent fit for J&J.

Owing to excellent academic and extracurricular track record, I was offered an internship in
ITC Limited, Indias largest multi-business conglomerate during the autumn break of
sophomore year. In my stint with the companys Packaging and Printing subdivision, I
realised how a perfect medley of technical expertise and managerial dexterity through the
implementation of principles like Lean, Six Sigma and Kaizen contributed to commendable
operational efficiency. This further fuelled my passion to understand the FMCG sector in
and out and develop and hone my skill set which landed me with Jindal Stainless Hisar
Limited, a subsidiary of Jindal Stainless, which ranks amongst the top 10 stainless steel
conglomerates in the world.

The 2 months that I spent with Jindal Stainless working on a project in Operational
Excellence boosted my skills of effectively bringing the paperwork into real life. My ability to
translate innovative ideas into actionable solutions was an asset to the team, and it is
rewarding to know that my proposals to reduce the Turnaround Time of outbound logistics
have been implemented and resulted into expected outcomes.

Having experienced two of Indias largest and most diversified industries, I now wish to
transcend my knowledge horizons by working with J&J on this Project Management
Internship. The prospect of being part of one of the most reputed firms in the world that
attracts top young talents worldwide, who posses ingenious ideas and insights on how to
adapt to the changing commercial ecosystem is extremely compelling.

I am eager to bring my analytical rigor, perseverance and determination to J&Js dynamic

and fast paced environment. These skills will complement the robust economical,
management, marketing and technical skills I am building at IIT-Roorkee, enabling J&Js
clients experience a superior customer experience.
