Misogyny Upshot

Women issues are avowed by jokes Words have the power to diminish, objectify and
dehumanize women creating an atmosphere of discrimination in the society.

In recent occurrence, there have been several shocking and distressing instances of a man
vilifying a woman. Engendering hatred of women doesnt have to leave scars or bruises to be
harmful and damaging, but the attacked to Sen. Leila De Lima was a vivid expression of woman
hatred. The issue got even bigger that the countrys democracy was in peril under the present
administration since senator decried being the subject of faulty attacks.

Thus the senator being a staunchest critic of Duterte administration was being barraged in a
patterned issues on drugs, immorality and adultery. De Limas issue on her supposed sex video
was devastating since the cabinet officials and lawmakers were actually defending moves to
show it in Congress.

Such acts constitute to the violation of human rights the right to dignity and privacy, and
the right against discrimination. In addition, belittling of women was apparently obvious not just in
unnumbered statements that damaged the Senators reputation but also in social media, where
bashers learned the craft of weaponizing humor against women.

According to research the proliferating access to the internet result in an increased

exploitation of women motley form of victimization include cyber stalking, harassment, online
pornography, and flaming. Sexual harassment in particular is a large barrier for women in the
workplace. Therefore it is a clear factor of magnifying and disseminating abusive acts which was
easily inhibited.
As a result, what have been transpired around had already polluted the mind of public
especially schoolfellows. Since social media has a great impact in humanity, abusive behaviors
toward women would become an ordinary thing particular on verbal abuse, as one of the saying
goes
Ang maling gawa ay nagiging tama sa tingin ng mga bata wherein they tend to use and applied
those crude and foul words to damage a certain reputation to other people.

Discrimination based on gender is one of the primary impediments to education. However

women are most often the victims of gender discrimination as they pursue an education. Based
on our interview some of the female students here in Bilogo National High School ( BNHS )
suffered from the unfair treatment of their peers Madalas akong liban kasi walang pambaon,
minsan walang tumanggap na group sakin pag may actvity Mariella Arpia a student from G-9
Makatarungan expressed.

Perhaps we could not expect acceptable behaviors toward women. Young minds will
undoubtedly adapt the legacy of impertinence, of making girls feel lesser in worth than boys , of
giving their less freedom of their life and their future, of taking away from boys the chance to
mature a sense of responsibility that would make them a better person. Generally speaking at
the heart of this is the need for respect: schools, parents and public figures all have a role to play.
