Behavioral Contingency Plan:

UNITED WE FOCUS UNITED WE PLAY


Target Problems: Students are off task Desired Behaviors: Stay on Task

This interferes with learning because students may Transition Quickly & Quietly
miss important information during lectures or may be Respectfully remind your classmates when they
unable to complete their work on time, leaving them are off task
behind in the content.
Reinforcement:
Immediate R+: Students will receive puzzle piece when they display desired behaviors.
Ongoing R+: Puzzle pieces will be used to construct three documents; Declaration of Independence,
Constitution, and Bill of Rights
o TEK Alignment 5.1: Students identify the roots of representative government in this nation as
well as the important ideas in the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution.
Students study the fundamental rights guaranteed in the Bill of Rights.
o The documents will consist of an increasing number of pieces; the first document will be 50
pieces, the second document will be 100 pieces, and the third document will be 150 pieces.
For each document that is completed, students will get to play Grudgeball an interactive game
that may be used as review for any subject. Instructions may be found here:

o This behavioral plan will last 5-6 weeks and will allow the teacher to give out 10-12 individual
positive reinforcements a day.
Overall R+: When all three documents are completed students will have a game review day for Social
Studies. Below are some of the games students may choose to play:
Toss & Answer Muffin
Jeopardy
Tin Battleship: for Map skills or vocabulary
Bingo
Jenga Review Matching: states & capitals or vocabulary
Who Am I
Grudgeball
Teaching the Behaviors & Teaching the Plan
Teacher will explain the desired behaviors and then model them for the students.
Students will repeat instructions and model the desired behaviors back to the teacher in order to assess
their understanding.
Teacher will remind students of each expectation and have the class practice during class time for the
first few days.
Teacher will deliver positive reinforcements when desired behaviors are witnessed.
Options
This behavioral plan is for 5th grade social studies but may be used for any subject and any grade with
slight modifications in the puzzle image and games to make them more age appropriate.
