Interview with a Niner
Querent A: I have two questions based on my extremely limited understanding of your
order. Correct me if they are incorrect or out of line.

Starting with perhaps the most sensational aspect I've heard or read. The topic of
human sacrifices being a part of your initiation processes and or practices. Could you
elaborate on this topic? Perhaps The Who, what, when, and whys?

The Order of the Nine Angles is first and foremost a praxis for the development of man
into adept. The microscopic application of this is the magickal praxis of the O9A, which
is called the Sevenfold Way, the Septenary Way, or Hebdomadry. The Occult praxis is
seen as the only method of causing a lasting evolution beyond the individual himself,
but this must be accompanied by scholarly learning as well as a real and practical series
of dangerous and exeatic [transgressive] experiences. These experiences (for example,
conducting a series of coordinated, manipulative tests to ascertain the nature of a target)
develop strength, character, and personal insight. The process of testing an individual
for weakness, cowardice, and general rottenness refines ones faculty of personal
judgement.

The removal of dross from the human population (which dross are referred to as homo
hubris or mundanes) is part of the macroscopic praxis for the refinement of man. The
testing of individuals can take many forms and it is up to the nexion [group /coven] to
determine their personal methodologies. One example used by a nexion called
Lympstone 316 was having a female initiate simulate unconsciousness due to
intoxicants, whereupon the prospective victim made use of her body. Needless to say,
his rottenness was substantiated. This proved he lacked honor, and it is upon the
Niner or Drecc to determine for herself what constitutes her personal code of honor,
after attaining much personal experience of both esoteric and exeatic natures.

The orchestration of the sacrifice can take several forms as well. You could manipulate a
sacrificial victim or opfer to seal his own demise or manipulate a mundane to do it for
you. You could physically carry it out yourself, or you could bring it about via magick.
This act of orchestration develops strength of character, and it allows the Niner to take
part in the Sinister Dialectic of history, which is the advancement of humankinds
evolution into a race known variously as orible dragones or homo galacticus.

The causation of a mundanes death, through any avenue, is a requisite of advancement

into a higher rank in Hebdomadry, which means that not everyone associated with the
ONA is required to do it. Certain obscure references in various manuscripts suggest
that a Niner might not want to have the kind of master who would order him to kill if
she is not ready to do so, and that some masters would not like apprentices who are so
obedient and daft that they would take on much personal danger in that fashion upon
command. (Ex?)-Niner E. A. Koetting posited that the intent of essaying a sacrifice is
meant to familiarize the Niner with her own personal boundaries, and that she is
supposed to realize that she does not have it in her to conduct such a sacrifice. Koetting
also posits that if the Niner is to carry out the sacrifice, she would have failed her
initiation.

Some of the central texts of the ONA are allegorical fictions which illustrate various
magickal principles and other practical teachings. These are called the Deofel Quartet,
or the Deofel Quintet if one includes a later fifth story called Breaking the Silence Down
which was added by David Myatt. Deofel is an Old English word meaning Devil, and
this quintet starts with the narrative of a male seeking initiation into a nexion. In this
text, titled Falcifer: Lord of Darkness, the protagonist dreams that the nexion is instructing
him to sacrifice a man who is bound to the altar. He finds himself unable to do it, and
once he verbally admits this, the potential opfer shapeshifts to adopt the protagonists
own countenance, and then shapeshifts to resemble the leaders of the nexion. Look
how close to failing you came, they say from atop the altar. This, of course, is a dream,
so it is upon the reader to use his judgement to decide what meaning to take from it.

The ONA praxis requires the willing sacrifice of an initiate once every 17 years to
magickally aid the progression of humanitys ascent. The protagonist of Falcifer is
sacrificed thus during a seasonal rite and thereupon attains immortality in the acausal
(spirit plane). The word opfer is Greek for sacrifice and a symbol called the opfer
rune was worn by Nazis to commemorate the demise of their fallen comrades, and the
ONAs use of the words hints at the aeonic significance of National Socialism.

An opfer, especially a magickally-gifted and willing one, aids the incarnation of Vindex
through the spiritual energy caused by his death. Vindex is the one who will bring
about the transition of humanity to homo galacticus and the transition of human society
to a Galactic Imperium. While Vindex has exoterically been described as an Antichrist,
he/she is esoterically considered to Kalki, the apocalyptic avatar of Vishnu. This draws
upon the cyclic or Aeonic view of history created by Savitri Devi, who believed that
Hitler was a spiritually influenced man who prepared the way for Kalki/Vindex. The
name Vindex means avenger, and he/she will be the avenger not of National Socialist
Germany, but of the strength, honour, and conquering spirit which made it exemplary.
You will find that most of the ONAs original beliefs are this erudite and complicated.

The existence of contradictory literature within the ONA was deliberately orchestrated
as a test of a would-be Niners personal judgment.

Querent A: Secondly for now, the topic of space exploration. I'm under the impression
your order feels humanity has conquered the earth so thoroughly there is no longer
challenges or adversity to overcome here and it is stifling the advancement of our
species or something similar. That the order advocates and attempts to advance the idea
of space travel not necessarily out of a scientific curiosity, or as a means to greater
resources but as a means to implement adversities to be overcome, thus the chance for
the growth of the individual and by proxy humanity on a whole. Is this correct, or close
to correct? If so could you elaborate on the subject?

The exploration of space by individuals will be necessary to continue humankind s

anados [ascent] at a certain point of its development. The homo galacticus will be a race
of conquerors, and so they will seek out the final frontier.

This will constitute an instantiation of the path and philosophy known as pathei -
mathos. Pathei-mathos, as a phrase, can best be translated as personal adversity can be
the genesis of insight. This Greek phrase occurred in Aeschyluss play Agamemnon.

Querent A: I guess I do have one more. Why would someone want to join your order?
What does O9A offer that can't be found elsewhere? What made you join or want to
join?

The ONA constitutes a practical and powerful means of attaining the Lapis
Philosophorum based upon the conception of the planetary spheres described in texts on
Arabic cosmology which have yet to be translated to English, rather than upon the
Qabalah. This is accompanied by a pursuit of physical fitness and strength of character
which amplify the magickal powers of the initiate. The view of the adept held by a
Niner is feminine in nature and has spiritual faculties which are considered feminine, as
opposed to the male-oriented conceptions of adepthood held by the mainstream
Western Occult. An advanced Niner is required to spend three or more months in the
woods alone and without modern accompaniments and thus develop an intuitive,
pagan, feminine understanding of nature, and a unique pitch of feminine psychic
faculties.
Querent B: Hello. This was actually the very first time that I'd heard of your order. I had
to go to Wikipedia to gain even what I imagine is a distorted description of your order
with possible nuggets of accuracy.

It doesn't describe what vein(s) of magick that your order manipulates.

I am curious to know if your order is more cerebral or visceral in it's pursuits of

influencing humanity.

Also I am curious to know if your order has animosity with or from other orders or
councils or even individuals (e.g. the Free Masons, The Gray Council, the actual person
behind fictional John Constantine, et. al.).

Thank you in advance for any answers that you feel you can provide here.

I realize that the man who inspired the John Constantine character has been dead a few
years, but I meant people like him.

The variate of magick which the Niner strives to learn is referred to by the Greek word
physis. Physis a Greek philosophical term for the essence of character held by an
individual and it recognizes the individual as an emanation of Spirit, which the ONA
variously calls the acausal or theos. Physis differs from the mainstream Occult praxis in
that does not use formal rituals, numerical correspondences, memorized chants, or even
names for the entities and energies it calls upon. The name of a spirit which serves to
describe and identify it does to a certain extent obscure its true nature. Physis magick ,
called also the rouning, is based entirely upon the intuitive and psychic faculties of
the rounwytha or rounerer, which is what a physis-witch is called.

Until that point, use is made of esoteric chant, and a series of hymns and mantras are
provided with sheet music. The correct annunciation of the music presences specific
planetary energies. This can be exemplified by some of the music provided on the MMP
Temple channel. In addition to this, the witch use sphereworkings and pathworkings to
attain a comprehension of planetary emanations.

Much of this and more is outlined in Naos. Seek out the new edition made by the nexion
I am in, which is called Drakon Covenant, but avoid the translation made by Michael
W. Ford, who does not understand Naos or Hebdomadry.

Let us take a moment to set the record straight regarding Michael W. Ford. He was
indeed involved with the ONA but he gained no understanding of its esoteric
teachings. There is an OG [old guard] ONA writer named Thornian who is often falsely
assumed to be Ford, but whose real identity remains unknown. End of tangent.

The ONA has its own set of divinatory cards, based upon its own esotericism, which
corresponds to various ONA concepts as well as to the deities which comprise the
ONAs pantheon called the Nekalah [Dark Gods]. The Nekalah include divinities from
many different civilizations, most of which are referred to by their most obscure names.
This prevention of the Niner from identifying the force he intends to call upon allows
him to gain an understanding of the deitys actual nature without being inhibited by
preconceptions. The Sinister Tarot was originally created by Richard Moult (pen name:
Christos Beest). Moult was a certain kind of Niner referred to as a balobian, which is an
ONA artist.

Querent C: Agnostic, Atheist, or Theist? Why?

The Niner must make such a judgement on an individual basis through personal
experience with the Divine or the Numinous. Any preconceptions must be tentative,
as spirits are known to patronize misconceptions held by the witch. Most are theistic,
but some view the Dark Gods as mere archetypes.

Querent D: Unfortunately, I too had to go to Wikipedia to learn of the order. My

question is: What is your viewpoint on the other styles and systems of Magick, and
would you feel that including or excluding certain aspects of other systems would taint
what you already have going?
The ONA has a belief considered comparable to the belief of Chaotes in Currents,
where the use of, say Qliphothic sorcery, was seen by the Old Guard as strengthening
and perpetuating the Nazarene/Magian current.

The use of personal judgement, while required, is supposed to occur once one has
striven hard to develop it. So a Niner will have to be prepared to make quite a case for
herself if she uses Qliphothic sorcery as I do. The same will likely be expected of Niners
by Niners if they depart from ONAs the code of conduct called the Law of Sinister
Honour. So a nexion which advocates pedophilia such as Misanthropic Nexion will
receive much backlash from more orthodox Niners, as the Law of Sinister Honour
forbids the harm of children.

Many nexions implement Hindu teachings, and some do go against the wishes of the
Old Guard and call upon Goetic spirits and the Azerate/Chavajoth. A Niner will face
less backlash from her comrades if she incorporates Hinduism than if she calls upon
Hebrew demons because Hinduism is not seen as Nazarene/Magian in order.

Querent E: Okay. I did a new search (I don't know why I didn't see this result before ),
but I found the www.o9a.org website. There is a surprising amount of information there
to peruse through. I see the O9A has a root in Hermetic magicks. I find myself
wondering if the blend of Hermetic Studies with Paganism and other magicks has
produced a parallel to things like Shamanism that embrace both the Light and the Dark.

Very perceptive. The ONA describes its tradition as Sinister-Numinous in nature, where
Sinister is an adjective descriptor for teachings which fall into the LHP. You may
