SECTION THREE

What can I expect to learn in this program?

In this program, I'll learn about databases, operating systems, software engineering,
security and web developments. A portion of this study will evolve around programming, so I'll
have a thorough understanding of how to use primary languages such as C++ and Java. I'll be
exploring models of computation, like the physical and mathematical structures, along with
Boolean algebra and combinations logic circuits. Other than the large variety of CPSC courses,
math is also included. The program teaches Integral calculus with applications to physical
sciences and engineering. Later on, I'll be introduced to more complex subjects, like advanced
software engineering which I'll learn about specification, design, construction, and validation of
multi-version software systems. In general, I'll improve and develop my skills for the uses of
computers and designs through this program.

After I have completed this program what future employment and career opportunities exist?

After completing this program, you could apply for careers such as a software engineer,
computer programmer, and software systems developer. A majority of government jobs are also
available which requires a data analyst or information archivist. Being a teacher is another
option, although it may not be as economically rewarding, it's still worth considering. If you
want to get a higher salary in this field, a lot of experiences and skills are required. Employers
often look for people who are smart, works hard, have a passion for programming and know
well about computers. After I get my undergraduate degree, I would go back to school to study
more and get a master's degree for more opportunities in this field and pursue my interests in
more depth.
