1 . There should be minimum three spans in each direction

2 . Panels must be rectangular with the ratio of longer to shorter span c/c of
supports within a panel not greater than 2.0

3 . The successive span lengths c/c of support in each direction do not differ by
more than one third of the longer span.
4 . Columns are not offset more than 10% of all the span in the direction of
offset.
a. 10% of the longer span is (25 x 12) 10% = 30 and column width in
this direction is 16 which is less than 30
b. 10% of the shorter span is (20 x 12) x 10% = 24" and column width in
this direction is 12" which is less than 24"

5 . The load is due to gravity only and is uniformly distributed over an entire
panel and the service LL does not exceed two times the service DL.

6 . The relative stiffness ratio of to must lie between 0.2 and 5.0 where
