The Power of Media and Information

In Education, the power of media helps to know and search the trends in our
society. For example, the Free Tuition Fees for College Students in State
Universities in the Philippines in year 2018. With the help of media, we can know
and analyze the different opinions of college students who are affecting the said
news. There are different side of opinions of students, some are okay with the
setting, and some are not because they wanted to have the free tuition fees this
school year.

Another example of the power of information in Education is when you are doing
a research especially these days, we needed different information from different
books or articles that can be found in the library or in the internet. In finding a set
of data of a certain topic, we need to know where to put it, analyze the data you
see and evaluate so that you know what part you will need.

In Economy, the power of media can affect the peoples mood towards the
economy of a certain country. The example of media is the internet. In this
century, internet makes the information to improve peoples life easier to acquire
on having a positive effect in their economy. However, it is easy to put some
information whether it is true or not wherein they used unreliable sources. For
example, last 2016 there is an inflation risk of rice wherein many people were
affected because of that crisis and peopleespecially the farmers are nagging
about how are their work and their livelihood? But other people said, that this
policy will help to promote lower prices and benefit to several Filipino rice
consumers.
In this kind of problem of our economy, we can know how different information in
many people, like surveys can affect ones perspective. Somehow they can say
that the farmers will have no livelihood because of the inflation and others will say
it is good for our country because we can be proudly introduce it to other country.

In Politics, since we are also active in not just in society but also in politics. When
the different forms of media and information combined, there is a huge possibility
that an individual can affects his or her sympathy to a politician, or not just in a
politician but also on how and who they are. In this particular topic, the best
example here is the Marcos, wherein they are really good leaders in their city. But
when a news came out about one of them, all of the issues about them since
1986 came out, believing that they are really not good leaders and they are part
of some illegal leaders in our country. In this part of news wherein you can see in
the television, and read in a newspaper, you can see how the anti-Marcos did
their rally because of what they have heard and watched in the news.

In this one, you can see the power of information and media on how they can
manipulate minds even if it is not true or untrue.

Lastly, this is the most affected topic. Society. Especially in our century, we all know
what social media is and by that two words, it can affect a person in our society.
Users can stay abreast of the latest global and local developments, and
participate in campaigns and activities of their choice. For example, when you
are doing something you want to do and posted it online, and you will be criticize
based on what they saw in the picture or anything you had posted. That is one of
the bad effects of media in our society and the negative about the information
is the lack of information of the sender did.
