India won bronze in junior world wrestling championship
Indias wrestler Manju Kumari won bronze medal in 59 kg womens
category in the Junior World Wrestling Championship on August 4.

Manju defeated Bulgarias Nikolay Kashinova in her first match today, but
she lost to Japans Yuzuru Kumano in the quarterfinals.

Earlier, Veer Dev Gulia won bronze medal in mens 74kg category for India.

India has won two medals in the junior world wrestling championship.

This competition is hosted in Tampere, Finland.

National Agricultural and Rural Development Bank Bill 2017 passed

The Lok Sabha passed the National Agricultural and Rural Development
Bank Amendment Bill 2017 on August 3, 2017.

The Bill proposes amendment to the NABARD Bill, 1981.

Narbad lends and controls the loans for agricultural and industrial
development in rural areas.

In the bill, there is a provision to increase the authorized capital of the bank
from Rs 5000 crore to 30 thousand crore rupees to the Central Government.

At present, the bank holds 99.6 percent share with the Central Government
and the rest with the Reserve Bank.
Kheal Ratn to be given to Devendra Jhanjharia and Sardar Singh

In the Rio Paralympic, gold medalist Devender Jhanjharia and hockey player
Sardar Singh will be given the Kheal Ratn award.

This time, this award has been awarded jointly to these two players.

36-year-old Jhanjharia is the first Indian to win a gold medal in the


Paralympics.

Cricketer Cheteshwar Pujara and Harmanpreet Kaur, Paralympic Medal


winner M Thangavelu and Varun Bhati, Golfer SSP Chaurasia have been
proposed for the Arjuna award.

World Athletics Championship begins today

The World Athletics Championship begins in London on August 4, 2017.

It will last for 10 days.

25 Indian players are participating in this competition.

Indian shuttlers stormed into the quarterfinals of New Zealand Open.

HS Prannoy and Sourabh Verma stormed into the quarterfinals of the New
Zealand Open in Auckland.

Fourth seed Prannoy defeated 10th placed Nan Wei of Hong Kong in the
pre-quarterfinals.

Seventh seed Sourabh defeated Parupalli Kashyap to qualify for the


quaterfinal.

The quarterfinal matches will be played today.
