TOPOLOGY CONSTRUCTION AND ERROR CLEANING

For Soil Map

Creating Feature Dataset

A new Feature Dataset was created from the existing Geodatabase

New Feature Dataset

Then the coordinate system of the new dataset that will be used was Kertau RSO Malaya (Meters)
from Projected Coordinate Systems National Grids Malaysia and Singapore.

Importing Feature Class

From the dataset created the, digitized feature class was imported into the dataset to create
topology.
Importing Feature Class

Topology

After the import of feature class completed the process of creating topology will be process. This
function is done from Feature Dataset New Topology.

New Topology

During the process of creating topology we have to set add rules for the topology that we want to
execute. In this case the rules used were Must Not Overlap and Must not Have Gaps.

Must Not Overlap Errors will exist if there are overlapping between polygons

Must Not Have Gaps Errors will exist if there are gaps between polygons
Topology Rules

Error Inspector

In the ArcMap the feature class and the topology were added and will display the errors existed. The
errors were listed in the Error Inspector.

Error Cleaning for Must Not Overlap

In this case the polygon of Tanah Curam (Yellow) was overlapped with Durian Munchong Bungor
(Light Blue). So the class of the overlapped polygon will be change to Durian Munchong Bungor and
the polygon will be Clip.

Error cleaning for Must Not Have Gaps

We can see that there are gaps between the polygon of Munchong Serdang and Durian Munchong
Bungor. One of the ways to clear the error is by connecting the vertices so that the polygon will be
closed.
