ACRONYM OF PUBERTY
P- Puberty is the process of physical changes through which
a child's body matures into an adult body capable of sexual
reproduction.

U-Utility of Basal luteinizing hormone levels for detecting

central precocious puberty in girls.

B- Body changes around puberty include: breast

development. changes in body shape and height. growth of
pubic and body hair.

E-Doctors diagnose early puberty when this normal

process starts early and continues to progress through
growth spurts and bone maturation, usually for reasons we
don't understand. Girls who show significant signs of
puberty and its progression before age 7 and boys before
age 9 are considered precocious. About 1 out of 5,000
children are affected.

R-Readiness [principle of motor primacy]. Maturation

often creates a condition of readiness for learning. Until the
necessary physical structures are mature, no amount of practice
will be sufficient to establish a skill. Impossible (and cause for
needless frustration) to try to teach a child to walk or to toilet
train a child before it is ready. Rapid learning is produced if
ready, otherwise the learning is inefficient or unsuccessful.

T-Temperament. Refers to the physical foundations of

personality, such as prevailing mood, sensitivity, and energy
levels. Newborn babies differ noticeably in activity, irritability,
distractibility, and other aspects of temperament. Because of
inborn differences in readiness to smile, cry, vocalize, reach out,
or pay attention, babies rapidly become active participants in
their own development --especially their social development.
They alter parents behavior at the same time they are changed by it.

Y-You are ready to enter the puberty stage.
