response will be the same. This is because the rights of victim should be given priority. The statutes of
the rights of victims have significantly affected the way in which the victims are given the treatment
within the state, local and federal criminal justice systems. There are numerous major rights for the
victims of crime due to which they should be given an utmost preference in comparison to the accused
criminal. The major reason is that they have suffered the damage and that is the major reason for that.
Therefore, the victim should be treated with sensitivity, respect, dignity, and fairness. They have the right
to be present and attend the proceedings of the criminal justice framework. They have the right to be
protected from harassment and intimidation. They also have the right to apply for the compensation of
the crime victim. The victim has the right to get an access to other remedies that are available.
Therefore, it does not matter if that individual is a family member or any other person. When any
particular person has become a victim of that crime, he or she has the right that should be given the
required priority that is far more important than the rights of that of a criminal.
