During the teaching and learning procces in my classroom on these 2 months I have found that my
students start to have willingness to learn eng

This experience changed me as a teacher. I came to understand that students are people who have
feelings and who don't want to feel cornered. They want to learn but they also want to feel as if they
have some control over themselves.

I never made assumptions again about students before they came into my class. Every student is
different; no two students react in the same way.

It is our task as teachers to find not only what motivates each student to learn but also what
motivates them to misbehave. If we can meet them at that point and take away that motivation, we
can go a long way toward achieving more effective classroom management and a better learning
environment.

I learned a lot about teaching. In my view, teaching is like a performing art.

My evaluations were mixed. Two major complaints were about my accent and my handwriting on
the board. I am not a native speaker of English and four months is too little time to get my accent
adjusted. So I knew it would create problems with at least some of the students.

As the quarter went by I found the work more and more easygoing. All I had to do was go to the
class and do a bunch of integrals on the board. So I was lax and stopped preparing the homework
problems beforehand. After all, I dont need to prepare for freshman integration problems how
wrong I was!

One day we were doing surfaces of revolution. I used to do them in a different way than it was
taught in the text. The textbook is very formal they set up the problem nicely and then solve it by
following a specific algorithm.

and this gave you the opportunity to let them see your imperfection.
Id like to talk about my first teaching experience. It was in the Fall of 2010 I had to teach integral
calculus. I had taught before but it was always 2-3 students at a time. I had no experience of
classroom teaching. So I was more than a little worried. My university had a pretty extensive TA
training program which ran for an entire week. I attended all the workshops religiously, took notes,
read and reread the TA manual. Still I found myself ill-prepared. With hindsight, my lack of
confidence was pretty natural but at that point I was super-scared to face my students.

One day, Tyler was talking while I was teaching. In the middle of the lesson, I said in the same tone
of voice, "Tyler why don't you join our discussion instead of having one of your own." With that, he
got up from his chair, pushed it over, and yelled something I can't remember other than the
inclusion of several profanity words. I sent Tyler to the office with a discipline referral, and he
received a week's out-of-school suspension.

To this point, this was one of my worst teaching experiences. I dreaded that class every day. Tyler's
anger was almost too much for me. The week Tyler was out of school was a wonderful hiatus, and
we got a lot accomplished as a class. However, the suspension week would soon come to an end,
and I dreaded his return

I was still trying to connect with Tyler. I can usually get students involved in class discussions or at
the least motivate them to sit quietly and attentively. By contrast, Tyler was just loud and obnoxious.

As days passed by I became more confident and was able to interact well with them.

To conclude my essay I can say that module one had a lot of experience for me as a teacher. I have
learnt a lot of things about the school and the amount of work the teachers need to do in order to
carry out a successful class. I also learnt that teachers need to ensure that student learn the
concepts taught in class i.e. the objectives are to be achieved.

My first experience as a teacher was a very challenging and exciting.I felt very nervous at first but
then I controlled it and moved on teaching. My associate teacher helped me explain the students
some of the concepts which I was not very clear on.

highlighted with the class rules and regulation

As the days progressed I was feeling more comfortable with both teachers and students.

Moreover, I sometimes faced difficulties in supervising the classes as it was hard to explain student
on concepts which are apart from my discipline.

Early on in my placement I struggled to find a way to organise the time within the lesson especially
when I did not know my students (see week 6, paragraph 3). The issues with the pacing of the lesson
began in the planning phase, where I struggled to allocate the correct timings to activities. I found
that, because of my lack of familiarity with the classes, my timings were often incorrect and my
lessons would often overrun. After a discussion with my subject mentor I found that there were
several strategies for working with students to improve the pace of the lesson.
