For Summer School I gathered data for the summer school teachers. I collected the
Spring Map data and shared the information with the teachers to help guide instruction and allow
teachers to see what areas of growth are needed for each grade level. Looking at the data the
students that are attending summer school are struggling with basic skills and have holes in their
learning. The teachers knew they needed to create lessons that were very engaging and high
motivation. The reading teachers also planned common core standards that were a common
theme that scaffolded with each grade level. The math teachers created lessons that would build
on number sense and problem solving skills. By using the data the teachers were able to see that
they need to build the foundations. This will allow the students in summer school be ready and
successful when the school year begins.
