2. TITLE
The title of the SOP is Listing and Tracking of the Hardware Issues.

3. PURPOSE
To maintain the RFO KPIs the quality and stability of the network is very important as it
has a direct impact. Thus, this SOP purpose is to standardize the BSS Interface procedure
involved for Listing & Tracking of Hardware Issues that affects Network Performance &
Quality of service.
4. SCOPE
Every Network suffers from Degradation of the equipment with the passage of time; this
type of degradation affects Network Performance & Quality of Service. It is responsibility of
optimization Engineer to continuously monitor these types of degradations that affects the
Network Performance through Statistical Analysis; Customer Complains & Field drive
Testing.
Any hardware problem that degrades the Network Performance must be highlighted &
pointed out to BSS operation for the speedy rectification & up keeping of the Network
performance & Quality of Service.
The main scope of this document is to highlight the procedures involved while
coordinating with BSS OPS for the resolution of hardware issues.
5. RESPONSIBILITY:
1. The prime responsibility of maintaining and safe guarding the tracker is of
RFO Core Team.
2. Any Optimizer who suspects hardware fault with the culprit site can raise the
issue in RFO BSS Tracker.
3. Only designated BSS personnel can close the TT raised by RFO.
6. PROCEDURE
Following is the step-wise procedure:
1. RFO team filters out the culprit cells which are suspected to have hardware issues
affecting RFO KPIs.
2. RFO further filters out any suspected hardware issues while monitoring the stats or
through field test analysis.

3. The issue is opened in the tracker with appropriate priority as per the SLA between
BSS Ops and RFO.
4. RF Optimization team needs to pin point or report the exact nature of the issue
through stats, counters or drive test results to the BSS team. In some or very rare
cases if the exact nature of the issue cannot be highlighted then RF team will request
BSS to do the health check with any support needed from RF Optimization team.
5. Once the issue is identified and escalated to BSS OPS team through the RFO - BSS
TRACKER maintained at the location accessible to both the BSS and RF Optimization
team.
6. Once BSS OPS receives the issue they will plan to rectify the issue and will also
update the column in the tracker mentioning in it the date for resolution. Hardware
issues may not be resolved in the first attempt; in that case the first attempt date
will be mentioned in the tracker.
7. BSS OPS team will also update the tracking sheet mentioning in it the completion of
the activity and closure of the issue.
8. Once the RF Optimization team receives the acknowledgement of the activity, they
will monitor the stats and will update the BSS OPS through email and tracking sheet.
9. If the issue gets resolved then it will be closed in the tracker also otherwise the issue
is opened again in the tracker and follows the procedure for the closure of the issue
as mentioned above.
10. A fortnightly meeting to be conducted between RF Optimization and BSS OPS to
discuss any urgent hardware issue, issues resolved during the previous week and the
future urgent issues to be attempted. In this meeting any ambiguous or long
pending issues needs to be discussed and a combined way needs to be brought up
for the rectification of such issues. The issues in the tracking sheet should also be
discussed in the meeting. The minutes of the meeting will be generated by RF
Optimization.
11. The optimizer may keep the culprit site raised in tracker under observation for a few
days (on discretion of the optimizer) to ensure that the site has regained the
previous performance level as per pre statistical data available.
12. Monthly tracker export and MOMs of the RFO BSS should be maintained in the
regional shared folder.
