LEGEND OF ICONS THE IMPORTANCE OF PHOSPHORUS
IN THE FERTILIZERS FCPCEREA
The Quality Mark is a collective mark identified by a logo that Phosphorus is already in our brand !
allows to identify companies that have agreed to operate in quality
during the production of fertilizers and management of the business system. FCPCerea stand out the content but also the type of Phosphorus (P2O5) in their fertilizers as in the case of
lines of complex granular (FERT and ACTIVE) where the matrices phosphatic used and the strong acid attack
allow a high percentage of fraction soluble in water.

Phosphorus expressed as P2O5 on the label (phosphorus pentoxide), is an

element slight mobility in the soil and its solubility is undoubtedly a index
evaluation of the product and the availability of the nutrient to the plant itself.

The use this family of formulations is characterized by the gradual release

nitrogen, by reducing the losses due to volatilization phenomena and run-off.
This increases the efficiency of nitrogen fertilization.

Responsible Care is the global chemical industry voluntary program

based on the implementation of the principles and practices relating to safety
Employees and Health and Environmental Protection and the commitment to
communicating the results achieved, toward a continuous improvement,
significant and tangible. Currently the program Responsible Care is adopted by
more than 10,000 chemical companies, in more than 50 countries worldwide

NITROGEN STABILIZED
Some of our fertilizers are characterized for a gradual release of nitrogen. The resulting advantage
is a reduction in losses due to volatilization of ammonia nitrogen fraction guaranteeing greater
absorption of the element by the plant with higher efficiency of nitrogen fertilization.

Today over 46% of the nitrogen used in agriculture is distributed in the form of urea that is not
always able to maximize its efficiency. The problems related to the use of urea are, in part,
determined by the way in which this fertilizer is transformed in the soil. Urea is rapidly transformed
(hydrolysed) into ammonia by specific enzymes, urease. The critical aspect of the process of
hydrolysis is given by its speed which, if too high, can influence the chemical characteristics of
the soil causing a strong increase of pH (8.5 and above), a significant accumulation of ammonia
and nitrites. The high pH is then cause of phytotoxicity phenomena and from the dispersion in
the atmosphere of nitrogen in the form of gaseous ammonia, the accumulation of nitrite can
be a cause of phytotoxicity. The extent of losses are generally proportional to the dose of urea
distributed and strongly influenced by the mode of application of fertilizer. The distributions of
fertilizer in coverage, and in particular in the bands, favoring the losses since they create areas
of high pH and a high concentration of ammonium salts on the surface of the soil. The result is a
lowering of the efficiency of fertilization.
However, the approach that has most satisfactory results is the use of molecules able to inhibit
the urease activity of the soil (blood urea nitrogen transformation in ammonia nitrogen), thus
delaying the hydrolysis of urea (NBPT).

ADVANTAGES OF USE OF NBPT IN OUR FERTILIZERS

1. Increased efficiency of nitrogen (REDUCE LOSSES volatilization), with

consequent decrease of the doses of use and decrease in the number of interventions
(MAXIMUM BENEFIT WITH LOWER COST).
2. Increased production efficiency (GREATER AVAILABILITY OF NUTRIENTS FOR THE PLANT)
3.Best vegetative-productive balance (STABILIZATION OF NITROGEN IN TIME).

THE ORGANIC SUBSTANCE,
THE HUMUS AND HIMIC ACIDS
IN OUR FERTILIZERS
The soil is formed by a solid component (sand, silt, clay and organic matter), a liquid component
(water) and a gaseous (oxygen and carbon dioxide). Among the compounds of the solid organic
substance plays an important role because it regulates the fundamental properties of the ground
(see figure 1).

The organic substance is composed of a group of compounds among which the most important are:

the living biomass (roots of plants, microorganisms, insects, etc.)

the dead biomass (plant and animal residues in the process of decomposition)

humus (the final product of the activity of microorganisms in the soil).

This is the more noble and important constituent of the organic substance.
The humus is the part of the organic substance more stable (more difficult to degrade) and more
reactive of the land and for that reason it is the center from which all depend on the fundamental
properties of the ground. The humus is composed by humic acids and fulvic acids. The first are
substances stable insoluble while the latter are soluble. This feature allows you to extract and
separate the tw o components of the organic matter and obtain the concentrated liquid or solid.
