Composition Notebook: Students will create an Interactive Student Notebook
(ISN). Student will take notes as well as glue handouts in their ISN. Students will
keep a running table of content (1st four pages) to help find essential information.
Also students may be asked to reflect on the lesson taught. I will collect the ISN
when the benchmark tests are given. Students will be allowed to use their ISN on
some tests and quizzes, but not all. They will be told the day of the quiz or test.
Students will not be allowed to go get their ISN out of their locker.
Warm-ups: As soon as students enter the classroom at the beginning of the class
period, they are required to begin work on the days problems. Students will be
expected to keep warm-ups until collected.
Class Assignments: Problems will be assigned from the online textbook
my.hrw.com. Students will be given a username and temporary password. In
order for my.hrw.com to work on the computer you must allow pop-ups on each
computer that will be used. When students do assignments online they can get
instant feedback if they are completing the problems correctly.
Quizzes/Performance Task /Unit Test/Assessment: will be given after Modules
and Units.
Test/Quiz Retakes: Students may retake test or quizzes. They will be required to
show all assignments have been complete as well as completing test correction on
a separate sheet of paper. You will analyze why (explain in full sentences)
problems which were incorrect and show correct work on all test and quizzes you
would like to retake. A max score of a 70% will be given. Student must also do
extra problems to show mastery of the topic before retaking a new test. Retakes
