A Peek At The Sunday Sermon

Saturday, September 2,
2017. Circle the date its
the Wolverines against
Florida and the start of Big
Ten football in Michigan.
And in case you were
wondering - the picture to
the left has everthing to do
with the Sunday sermon!

This picture was taken in November 2016. It was Michigan

against Ohio State, and it was the game of the century. The
outcome was NOT what a Wolverine fan expected. It was
disheartening devastating and for this Michigan fan, it
signaled the beginning of the darkest of times in Ann Arbor.

On Sunday, well take a look at College Football and find a

comparison with living the Christian life. It doesnt matter if you
are a football fan or hate all sports you should enjoy our worship
and learn something about living for Jesus, in the darkest of
times.

Prepare for Sunday. Read Isaiah 6:1-8, and you will be ready to
learn why
Life is Like Big 10 Football

See you at 10 AM for Sunday Worship!

Beginning June 11th (Trinity Sunday) and until
November 19th the altar Colors are green,
symbolizing the renewal of vegetation and generally
of living things and the promise of new life!

Our suggested Scripture reading for August 20, from the 2017 UCC
Church Calendar:

Romans 11:1-2 & 29-32 (NLT)

Gods Mercy!

I ask, then, has God rejected his own people, the

nation of Israel? Of course not! I myself am an
Israelite, a descendant of Abraham and a member of
the tribe of Benjamin. 2 No, God has not rejected his
own people, whom he chose from the very beginning.
Do you realize what the Scriptures say about this?

For Gods gifts and his call can never be

withdrawn. 30 Once, you Gentiles were rebels against
God, but when the people of Israel rebelled against
him, God was merciful to you instead. 31 Now they are
the rebels, and Gods mercy has come to you so that
they, too, will share in Gods mercy. 32 For God has
imprisoned everyone in disobedience so he could
have mercy on everyone.
